I just started a game again. Im playing solo as a bounty hunter. It's been a pretty tough time but I'm standing strong. I just want someone to let me know, is it possible to solo as a bounty hunter?

It's possible to solo game with any class and class combination.

A bounty hunter is a pretty powerful class, as other thief classes, except that the Improved Snares add a tactical edge.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I wasn't sure if it will be possible. The only problem is that the last irenicus fight is kinda hard for this class especially, though I will admit I have some ideas for how I can take out his minions; still at the same time I am a little curious as to what I should do about Irenicus when the time comes to fight him.

I figured throw a special snare at the demons when they approach, I can say bye bye to them for a while. But then Im stuck with a time limit for defeating irenicus. And not to be negative, but the bounty hunter isn't the biggest powerhouse in the game. Mainly so far the only other idea I have is too load up on hla traps and munchin him to death, but the question is will i have them by the time i get to irenicus.

Does anyone else have any ideas for how a single-class bounty hunter should deal with Irenicus?

If you have Throne of Baal installed then by the time you get to Irenicus you will have a bagfull of HLAs, and as a result will be able to use any item and backstab with every hit.

Thats true, the only thing is I dont think that you can backstab Irenicus in Hell. But....if you can that would be awesome.

You could use items to boost your magic resistance level to 70/80%. That would help a good deal. Those traps should be ultra handy, too.

I believe that you can backstab Irenicus. A common tactic for a thief type is the hit and run.

Backstab, then run away, set a trap perhaps, then rehide.

When I said backstab with every hit, I was referring to the Assasination HLA.

Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah actually now that I'm using bounty hunter correctly (Which means almost always using special traps and backstabbing alot) I'm finding all of the missions I've been doing to be easy. Hell, even the last of the assassinations mod missions are cake for the bounty hunter. Speaking of which, have any of you tried out the Assassinations mod, it's pretty good.

Defeating Irenicus is very easy with HLAs, but it can be done even without them.

Demons cannot be backstabbed, so it it far better to use traps in order to get rid of them. But do not lay traps in the area where Irenicus appears, or he will trigger all of them and he'll still survive. Set them a little bit lower, 7 is the maximum amount of traps. Now you can use either your Maze traps or your usual traps. I don't remember if demons are immune to trap damage, I think they aren't, so you have a good chance to kill a couple of demons with usual traps, leaving you against only one or two demons. But I prefer another tactic. Maze all of the demons with your pre-set special snares, then Maze Irenicus from a safe distance(but first track him and dispell his illusions via Detect Invisibility, he uses to teleport to the western part of the room right after triggering Mislead), then set all of your usual snares at the place where Irenicus will appear. This should do it.
If you're worried about his spells, drink a Potion of Magic Resistance in addition to your other MR granting gear(you should have at least 30-40% MR granted from items and rewards till now).

And last but not least, use Normal traps and melee with buffs like Potions of Power in order to kill the demons, afterwards use Hide in Shadows combined with the Cloak of Non-Detection + run at double speed + backstab...although the Slayer regenerates somewhat quickly...

Demons CAN be backstabbed, but you need to have them distracted first. While they can see invisibility and will follow you, with any summon or distraction, you can hide and make your way to their back, when their attention isn't focused on you.

I guess you haven't either patched or fixpacked, because in my install the Baalor demons cannot be backstabbed - the message appearing is 'The backstab seems to have failed'.

I am fully patched. I do not like to install unofficial content to my games.
