Bug? Glitch? *Spoilers (not sure)

Was not sure if I should put this in my post below or start a new one. Since it was a new subject. I started a new post. If that's not right please let me know.

I'm in Saradush (1st time) and I'm doing what I assume is a side quest since it does not appear to have any thing to do with Gromnir.
I had to go talk to a guy named Errard, who I found up on the city wall. While talking to him I noticed the soldiers firing arrows out past the wall.

So when I finished the quest, I went back up on the wall to see what they were shooting at, and as soon as my party got near the wall, the four members of my party with missile weapons started firing at the same thing the soldiers were firing at. From the dialog, it seems as though they are shooting at and killing Fire Giants, although I don't see any.

This just kept going on and on and the only way I could stop it was to walk off the wall. At first I thought (what a good way to get XP's, every time a FG died it was 8000pts) but then I thought if this is a bug or a glitch, then I don't want my game to freeze or crash, so after about 6-8 minutes I took my party off the wall.

Can someone please tell me whats going on here. Is this a bug, glitch or something else that will screw up the game. If not, would it be considered cheating to go there to get a some XP's.:speech:

Also is finding Gromnir a timed quest?

Thanks :)

It's not a glitch as such, and it is an opportunity to mine experience points if that appeals to you. Basically Saradush, as you know by now is under siege and this is depicted by the missile fire between the defenders and besiegers. I never came across any limit in the supply of Giants, or any time limit, so in theory you could level up to max level if you can tolerate it. On one occasion I left my party shooting overnight just to see how much XP they would gain, and if there was a limit. The answer was far too much (I reverted to the save I made before going to bed) and No.

You can stop it by turning auto attack off of course.

There's no time limit for finding Gromnir either.
