I know that riddle, so I will leave it to TAO to solve. :)

Hint Time:
As for mine, the person only wanted that one type of drink. It was however going to be drunk by a large number of people, who could easily have drank something else, however only that type of drink was suitable, all the others would not have worked.

No one has had a guess since my post, so I will give another hint:
This alcoholic beverage was important because it represented something or someone

Is this where people start guessing alcohol/person names? :p

He wanted Jack Daniels? :D

To be honest, no idea. Just grasping at straws.

Alright, no one has a clue, so I will solve it. The man was a priest who had run out red wine, he went to the person who unfortunately had none, so nothing else would be a subsitute.

I have a riddle, though it's not too good.

You have three stoves: a gas stove, a wood stove, and a coal stove, but only one match. Which should you light first?

'Wood? you can use the wood to light the coal and gas ovens?

Gas you stand away and it will explode thus lighting the other two stoves.

Posted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 4:38 pm
by Ravager
Neither of those. And the building where the stoves are has to remain standing. ;)

Must we explain our choices and have the right answer?

how about Putting the coal and the wood in the gas stove, then lighting it?

Posted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 4:44 pm
by Ravager
No. And you shouldn't have to explain the answer either.

by Hill-Shatar
Oh, right then none. :D

by Ravager

May I point out how difficult it is to light cold coal and wood... with a match?

Posted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 5:00 pm
by Ravager
So..to get a blunt answer from you, what are you lighting first? :p

And difficulty is irrelevant to the answer. :D

Sigh... Coal... Actually, doesnt coal give off gas when burned?
