Meh. On Anti-Depressants, Messed up the best thing that ever happened in my life, almost thrown my back out, and have a cell phone which, for some reason, won't let me call people, bu people can call it. Same old. As always, I'm life's whipping boy.

Sorry to hear about that, Aegis. I often go in and out of deep depressions but I have never had the need for medication. Sometimes I feel the entire world wants a piece of me.

BTW-I agree that cell phones are useless. Their only purpose is to take them along with you in cars just in case theres an accident or something. Other than that people just use them for toys. Completely useless.
Well, I got one just so I could stgay in touch with everyone I know (As I'm out of the house a lot)

Thats true. But I was basing it on the actions of my friends. They call eachother's cell phone from across the same room, or from car following the other car. Thats all using it like a toy. I guess you use it a bit more responsibly.

Ode, I used to have a pocket plane... Wouldn't ya know that there was an annoying little Imp inhabiting it all the time. He always went digging through my stuff, so, I had to colapse the entire place. Tragic... I had access to everywhere I wanted to go from that plane....
Ours just has a bar-tending monkey and two dragons, or at least in the parts that are open to the public.
I used to have a pocket plane much like yours, but for some reason there was never enough storage space...
The one in the Rolling Thunder (TM) is far better, and doesn't have any annoying imps...
Drop by sometime and see it.

Hey, I'm not rich either. When I'm not working, I only have $80 a month to use, and now half of that will be going towards the phone.

My generalization stated that people who use cell phones just as toys basically are rich. It wasnt people who use cell phones are rich. You have that cell phone for a reason, so I wasnt implying that you were rich, Aegis. I dont have any idea, and I tend not to judge people before I know details.
It sounds like that phone is kind of wearing down your income. Is it worth it?

Not everyone who has a cell phone is loaded with dough. To many kids, cell phones are as much a right as being able to go out on Friday nights.
Generally, cell phones are toys or status symbols, but there are people who have legitimate needs for them (ie-doctors, folks who travel for work, etc.). My stepdaughter lives in her own apartment and instead of a land line, she has a cell phone. It turns out to be cheaper for her to have Sprint PCS service ("Can you hear me now?") with caller ID, voice mail, text messaging et al than it is to have a phone in her apartment (she also has cable modem internet service). Plus she's never away from that thing sticking out of her head.

My parents are quite well off, so I have a mobile phone and they kindly pay the bills. By the same token, I don't make many calls on it, and only got it because my cousin who used to live with us, and whose phone it was originally, moved back overseas, so my parents figured they'd just give the phone to me.
I actually never really wanted a mobile phone, but it has come in useful from time to time.
I myself am quite poor, I don't get an allowance and haven't been able to find work so far. Aegis seems to have a pretty good deal from my financial setup...

Probably more.
I have always contended that if you really need to work you can find it, a decadent society seems to breed people who wont work because they feel the jobs they get offered are below them so prefer to live on welfare
Well i have 200+ CDs, put that together with other music paraphenalia, computer games and hardware..one wonders why i am broke

I have a phone which I rarely use. And even more rarely give out (number), as I hate having people throw useless and expensive SMS over to me expecting a reply, I only ever reply in certain scenarios and sometimes turn the annoying thing off, because I like my privacy. I only got one because I do go out late some nights or if I'm travelling long distances, a cell phone is handy when no public ones are around.
