“I don’t miss my family. I cannot miss something I have never known. Nor do I feel pity for my family or mother, I simply am guilty because in my first minute of being born I killed. I have always been impure, even though it was right. And what I endure is nothing, what affects me is that for the first time I have told the truth, without deception, and I’m being treated as a vagrant and a common criminal. I can handle the verbal and physical abuse, sure hit me if you want, my race deserves it, but what annoys me is the fact that if I cannot be trusted now, when can I be trusted? I know two things of Drizzt. One, he is an excellent fighter. Two, he is the first Drow to be accepted on the surface. I know nothing else of him, though long have I desired to know. And for the last time, I am not insulting you, the Paladin, this temple or anyone else. I AM NOT LYING ABOUT MY PAST. Why can’t you just accept me, but it seems that I have little hope. Sh’rarn, I am happy to follow you, but Tway, when I saw your horns I imagined the pain you have been in, but now I know that you have lived life in comfort. Sh’rarn, lead on, I will follow, I can see that you understand I was not insulting you, however this lady is yours and as such, will take anything as an insult.”

Walking towards Sh’rarn, Kron saw the Tiefling stiffen and grip her weapon, while Sh’rarn stayed calm. “I see that despite your conflicting interests, you have been fair and just with this matter. With this, you have truly proven yourself a worth paladin." Kron reached into his cloak and pulled out his dagger, ignoring the cries and sounds of weapons being unsheathed. Flipping it in his hand, he handed the hilt to Sh’rarn, saying, “I will follow you as a trustworthy member of your party. I will only break this bond when you or your companion (glancing across at Tway) decides to do something in attempt to harm me or my life is direct danger. Will you accept this?” With his speech done, Kron waited for the response.

Whilst Sh'rarn's words stung her, she could bear it, she was doing this out of some deep-seated instinct, she didn't like this Drow, and though the evidence, whilst present, was not stagering, she still didn't like him.

Lying has many meanings. The best lie was four parts truth and six parts lie, it made it as believable as possible. She was determined to ignore Kron's rebukes, until she head one.

... but Tway, when I saw your horns I imagined the pain you have been in, but now I know that you have lived life in comfort.

That Tway could not bear. Kron was standing right infront of her, and before she knew what she was doing, she heard a sharp crack, her palm stung slightly, and Kron was lying on the ground. She was, once again, quivering with rage. How dare he presume what her life had been like! How dare he! She was all too tempted to take her sword and plunge it into his chest right now, only Sh'rarns shocked look halted her. Looking down at the felled Drow a single tear leaked from beneath one of her closed lids...

How dare he...

Sh'rarn could see that Kron's words had affected Tway. He didn't think it now meant she was going to start trusting or even liking him.
Next came the astonishing offer from Kron, effectively he was vowing to following Sh'rarn. "I accept this offer, we will not turn on you. I thank you for your trust. And I'm sure Tway feels the same. Right Twaynith?" He looked over at Tway who approached Kron.
Then she hit him squarely in the jaw and Kron was on the ground.
"Wha...Why did you do that?!" Sh'rarn exclaimed angrily and approached her. He could see she was crying and he softened. He was unsure what to do but reached an arm around her. Limited comfort perhaps but the least he felt he could do. She snuggled close to him.

Reacting with his instincts, Kron let fly with a magic missile straight at Tway, whose back was turned. Suddenly he realised what had happened and knew he had to act. Using all his knowledge, he knew that if he were to get hit, it would hurt no where near as much. Summoning his powers, he slowed the missile down, and then flipping to his feet he dived in front of Tway to take the hit - just as she and Sh’rarn turned around to see what the noise was - crumpling as the missile connected. Lying on the floor, he gasped, “Ha, damn instincts, great way to get hurt.” Turning to Sh’rarn, he whispered, “The deal still stands, I don’t think she heard you in her rage,” before he passed out, and let the pain float away.

In her current state, Tway could do nothing more than lean into Sh'rarns embrace. She felt ashamed for whet she had done, sure, the Drow had annoyed her, and fairly insulted her, but he hadn't deserved such a blow. She eventually broke down into full-blown sobs, crying heavily into Sh'rarn's strong chest. She didn't dare look into the Aasimar's face, fearing what she would see there.

Then she noticed all the acolytes and the heirophant looking at her, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up, in that sixth sense that tells you when you're being watched. With a sad moan Tway wriggled from Sh'rarn's embrace and fled the shrine. As she started running she almost tripped over something, though didn't take the time to see what it was. Through the streets of Baldur's Gate she ran, going pull pelt, tears streaming down her face, all the way back to the inn, taking the steps in threes and fours, no mean feat in her skirt, pelted into her room and slammed the door.

She promptly collapsed onto the bed and wept...

Sh'rarn faced a tough decision. Abandon the drow who had just pledged to his cause or go after Twaynith? Addressing the hierophant, he respectfully asked him to ensure the drow was cared for and he was sent for after Kron awoke. He also got a vow from them that they would not harm Kron and ensured that they knew they would be crossing him if they made any attempt to hurt Kron.
With that taken care off, he headed back to the inn, that being the only place he could think of that she may have gone. She wasn't downstairs, so slightly desperate he ran up the stairs and around the corridor and found the door to her room open. He knocked on the door and headed inside finding Tway sitting on her bed and sobbing.
He couldn't bear to see her like this, even though he hadn't even known her a full day! He sat next to her on the bed. "I...uh...do you want to talk?"

She didn't notice when the door opened. Only noticing that Sh'rarn was in the room when he sat down next to her head. She was kneeling on the floor, her head and part of her chest on the matress of the bed. Tway turned her head away from Sh'rarn, not wanting him to see her like this; puffy-eyed and with tear-stained cheeks. But she was more and very pleased he had come to her. It took a minute or two for her to get her voice back.

"It-it was just that Dr-drow... the way he talked, like he knew ever-everything and the-the whole world revolved ar-around him"
She gave a long shuddering sigh. "Th-then he gave that r-rubbish about me ha-having an easy life, and I just c-couldn't stand it" She burried her head in the bedclothes, choking back sobs. Great! The one time Sh'rarn actually displays some affection for her, she has to be incapacitated with melancholia...

This situation was quite alien to Sh'rarn...comforting a Tiefling he still didn't know that much about. What could he really do? Just be there while she had need of company.
"Hey...it's all right", he said softly among other pretty meaningless phrases that just didn't seem enough. She seemed to calm down a little and lifted her head from the bedclothes and he wiped away some of her tears. "Are you feeling any better? Kron just doesn't know you, not that I know much about you either. I sense you are a generally good person though and that's what matters. Not your history. Kron's arrogant and knows less than he thinks he does but I believe there is more to him than meets the eye."
Twaynith obviously didn't want to hear about Kron though and turned away from him. "I understand you don't like him and I value your opinion but I...don't know what else I can do. He will prove useful and I believe he deserves the chance to redeem himself". Also something she didn't want to know he could tell.
"Uh...there's something you should know about him. He jumped in front of a spell to stop you being hit. I don't know where it originated or what it was supposed to be for but he definitely blocked it from hitting you". She looked up in shock obviously not believing that Kron would do such a thing. Sh'rarn nodded in affirmation.

ADDITION: Thinking back to that event now, he thought how strange it was that Kron had blocked the spell himself despite the potential result. All this after the distrust Twaynith had shown him, not willing to back down at all. Perhaps it showed the possibility that Kron could be better than he had appeared thus far, such a thing bode well for the future...

@Kythras & Venom, I think that opens it enough to continue without me tomorrow if you want :p . Just think of a good excuse to get rid of my character. Maybe called away by the Hierophant to perform a task on his own. Should have potential for a conversation without cutting each other down, now that Kron's blocking the spell has been revealed to Tway.

Waking up, Kron was reminded of his encounter with the Wizard. Staring over him was an acolyte. "Start casting a spell and you're dead." he said clenching his teeth. "What, you think you are tough because you can make idle threats to an incapacitated magician while you have a heap of people to back you up. I have a better idea." With that Kron stood up, claimed his gear, and walked out, the acolyte just looking on.

The couple was probably at the inn, so that seemed the logical place to go. Arriving, he couldn't see them downstairs, so they were probably upstairs, becoming better acquainted. He had decided on his plan. He was not sure how much they saw, so he would rather play it dumb. He would say he couldn't remember anything, except giving a pledge, and then passing out. Kron would say that he must have slit his wrists, causing him to drop. That way, he could see what they would tell him, and he would know things they thought he didn't.

Upon receiving a drink courtesy of the man last night, Kron thought back. He didn't know why he had jumped in front of the missile, the woman had deserved it, but then again, why had she hit him in the first place? Oh well, all of this would be sorted out later. Skulling the drink, Kron went up to his room, asleep as he hit the bed.

((OOC: Sorry for joining soo late in this dialogue thread, I discovered it today only. I will post now, but if im too late ignore me))

A hard days work was to repaid with a hearty beer. Kazar slowly made his way towards the building a couple of metres away from him. He was short for his race, and abit overweight to, yet surprisingly it did not hinder his movement in any way. He pushed the solid oak door open with his hairy knuckles, and was instalty hit by a wall of air. Smells both pungent and sweet made their way towards his nose, and he sighed happily.

"A beer, Your best please" murmured Kazar

"Excuse me?" asked the barman

"A beer goddamn it"

"right away sir"

The barman hurried away to a corner of the room where stood 3 or 4 barrels of beer. He hurridely poured the Dwarf a glass and set it infront of Kazar.

"Here is to a hard day!" he toasted to himself

Shocked indeed. Tway couldn't believe it, why would Kron take a spell for her... whilst she was trying to see the best in the Drow, she couldn't help but wonder if he had done it to worm his way into Tway's good books. But she wanted to believe it, despite how bad his first impression was, she did want to see the best in Kron, if only to earn Sh'rarn's affection, if nothing else. But something did not feel right, whilst the Drow did display a genuine wish to aid her and Sh'rarn on their way to Sterenear something did not bode well with her for Kron... she would watch him closely.

Tway sat up, wipping the rest of her tears away, and warmly embraced Sh'rarn, without a hint of her alterior motives, "Thank-you Sh'rarn, thank-you fer being here" She pulled back, giving him a warm smile. Perhaps the Aasimar was right, and the Drow didn't have malevolent intent, but now she was with Sh'rarn, alone, in her room... if took all of her now-feeble willpower to stop her jumping on him...

Sh'rarn smiled and nodded slowly, "Of course, think nothing of it. I'm just glad to help. It's just strange I feel I know so much about you and yet we only met yesterday..."
He hesitated before he said quietly, "And you're certainly the opposite of anything I expected or learnt of tieflings."

@Yepi, feel free to join in the dialogue. Find the inn our characters are staying at maybe. :)

"And you're certainly the opposite of anything I expected or learnt of tieflings."

Was Sh'rarn... hitting on her. It was music to her ears, she could scarcely believe she was hearing it she decided to play it cool, she didn't really want Sh'rarn to know she was head-over-heels in love with him. With a mischevous smile she replied, "You're not what I expected from an Aasimar either Sh'rarn..."

Sh'rarn's eyes widened slightly as he understood the implications of what he said. He hadn't meant it quite like that.
Just then a runner entered the Lord's Table and inquired after Sh'rarn. His message was simply that the hierophant needed to talk to him. Talking to Tway, he said, "I have to go, do you want to come with me?". Twaynith reluctantly agreed.
~~~
Soon after they arrived and were ushered to meet the hierophant. "Kron is gone. He chose to leave but didn't say where he went". Sh'rarn rolled his eyes, it was possible that the drow had returned to his room at the inn after all and had only been a matter of feet away.
~~~

Returning to the inn, he asked the barkeep which room Kron was in, and headed up to it. Kron was fast asleep in his bed, obviously blocking that spell had taken a lot out of him. Unfortunately, Sh'rarn needed him awake and he was less than subtle about it. After shaking Kron somewhat, he eventually awoke, though still seemed quite out of it.

"It was like that when I got there... wait, it's you. Now, you have some explaining to do. Why is it that I woke up to the threats of a stupid acolyte at the temple we were visiting? What exactly happenend? Because I'm sick of people trying to exorcise me without me giving consent. So you'd better start talking."

Kron knew they would believe he didn't remember. Though of course he knew what happened. Also, he wondered if the Tiefling knew of what he had done, and of how she reacted. All of this would most likely be explained soon.

Kron was making demands again?! He seemed to always be doing that. "As far as I know, you blocked a spell that was aimed at Twaynith. I don't know who cast it though, I didn't see that. The spell knocked you unconcious and I tasked the shrine to look after you. As for the acolyte, I apologise, he should not have treated you that way, despite the common distrust of any drow. You left the shrine before I arrived to talk to you and returned here".

Perhaps knowing this would placate the drow. Somehow Sh'ran doubted it.

Interesting, he told Kron about his heriocs, however didn't say the part about Tway hitting him. Perhaps he could somehow force it out of him.

"Interesting. But due to my obvious lack of physical health, I would say the spell was either very weak... or it was mine. Now as unsettling as that is, I have insticts which cause me to cast a spell when attacked unexpectedly. It killed my mother, killed many others, and if I had been attacked then, it would explain what happened. I do not think it was someone else, because I would not have reacted in time, nor would I have put myself in front of it. I do know that if I put myself in front of my shots, it doesn't hurt as much.

So I ask you, did you see me attacked, or provoked?"

Sh'rarn's eyes widened, "You attack instictively? Surely that could cause far worse things to happen". He shook his head, "Anyway, as for the provocation, it was Tway. She hit you. I'm still not exactly sure why. Perhaps you said something that offended her?"

Kron widened his eyes in false shock, "Tway hit me. What did I do to offend you? And as for my insticts, well I'm born with them. And I admit it has caused trouble, put it has saved my lives countless times. Which is why after I instively cast it, I had to stop it. Me being hit hurts considerably less than if you were hit, so naturally I took the hit, seeing as it appears I brought it on myself. So what oh fiery Tway did I do to incur your wrath?"

This reply would be extremely important to Kron. If Tway still hated him now, something was seriously wrong, but it was time to see what happened.

Twaynith followed submissively throughout the entire proceedings, most unusual for the fiery young woman. It was clear that her outburst had taxed her, mental and emotionally. She said nothing when they came upon Kron, even when Sh'rarn indirectly adressed her, she remained huddled behind him. She wasn't ready to face the Drow yet, both becasue of what he had said, what she had done to him, and generally his attitude. She fiddled with the hem of her blouse as she waited for the two men to finish their discussion...
