aegis is technically 'eh-g(soft)iss' - from latin, for shield, as spammybrother (tyb) said. as in ars magica's "aegis of the hearth". another good example of the pronunciation is "faerie."

Don't mean to nitpick, but shouldn't we use the greek pronunciation, since I think it was used in Homer's Illiad?

We probably should, but the influence of the Roman civilisation is such that even though it's right, pronouncing aegis with a hard 'g' will probably be seen as wrong. I prefer saying 'Eejits' anyway...

Aegis means something not shield now...ill find out later
