Actually, as was discussed in Waverly's 'Cyber Match Inc.' and 'Cyber Match Inc. the results are in' I go purely for insane people.
Of course, I got paired with Waverly himself on that one....
*Wonders if Fas will stop by so she has someone to flame, as everyone else is turning out to be too nice.*

Or could Gnu be an alias of another animal friend we know?
Nah! neither of those boys are into alter egos!

Oh no, I'm not a smurf. I am probably as un-smurfy as you get.

@all: Sorry for intruding, but could please some of the so very exalted members here explain to me poor newbie boy what would be considered a "good" flame and what would get labelled "bad" flame ?
I've always thought that "flame" is something bad and a strict "no-no" on any forum .
Thank you all in advance for your time and patience.
Your obedient servant,
Beldin.

@ Beldin, we have a tolerance on 'nice' flames. They are often just jokes. A bad flame, in our terms, is actually meant to be cruel. Is that ok?

Wankerly, or Waverly, is supposedly king of the flames. Can't work out why though...

And this "Gnu" guy seems to have completely disappeared after challenging Waverly. Perhaps Ysh was right....

A good flame, on the other hand, is not only meant to be cruel, but actually
is. Tsk.

Hello Beldin and welcome here
A good flame here it SYM is when people who already are familiar with each other jokingly flame each other in a funny manner. Serious flaming in discussion and such is not accepted.

Well Buck and his little suck up children aka Mods

, are pretty nice and leniant(can i be a mod now?). They won't ban you if you flame. Well usualy its accepted as a joke but sometimes... Anyway compared to mods in other forums who usualy ban any newbie immediately if they flame(even as a joke), the guys are here, are great people.
Haha, i sucked up! A little bit more sucking up and i can call myself a COMM. Yay!

j/k

@Thorin, thanks....i think
This is my opinion, not necessary the opinion on any other mods or GB as a whole.
A little competition is okay, a little in the way of competitive nature is also okay, it depends greatly how far you take it and how serious you are. Each individual case is different.
If i was a newbie to this forum i would spend time seeing how the land lies before getting yourself banned for a flame war. Some of the casual flaming that goes on is okay, it is when things get serious that problems occur, it is better to ingratiate yourself a little so we know what your stance is, if you don't do this then we have no understanding of your position and we can not judge your actions.
I hope that cleared things up a little.

About flames/jokes
A little friendly advice from the experienced: Be careful when making jokes about someone of whom it is generally known you don't like as these jokes can very easily be misunderstood.
