Actually, my wife started out as a paleo pathologist. She was working with a bunch of natural mummies from Nubia. One late night, all alone in the lab, she could have sworn that 'torso man' started breathing!

Actually, I've been thinking about starting a thread on evolution issues, since there are so many interesting things to discuss. Many people still seem to believe evolution = evoution theory = Darwin
What you tell me about your work seems very interesting. Fascinating stuff about the mollusk. What kind of culture was this and where? History is the subject in the world I'm most ignorant of
@Cheese: I have a nice ammonite dating from Devon. At night, it sometimes attack.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I had to put the little one to bed. If you're still here:
Yes, I would like to hear the background on your name; I never thought it was stupid (compared to mine), I always thought it had an 'elegant' ring to it (pun intended).
Evolution would be an interesting subject. I already posted a bit on the subject in the Theological Quandaries thread. Waverly is quite well versed in the subject. I would need to do a little reading.
The Hohokam were a sedentary or semi-sedentary agricultural society here in the desert southwestern US. They grew corn, beans, squash, and cotton. The also ate lots of wild foods, like agave (some agave horticulture was practiced), mesquite bean, and cactus fruit. They lived in pit-houses, like sunken rooms with brush and mud walls/roofs. They played a ballgame in large courts. In later phases, they built some low platform mounds and had walled adobe room blocks.

Let's see. This is a pub thread, by definition a spam-only thread. A man enters in a humorus way and 'interupts'. Then claims to be rude and apologize. Yep. You deserve this:
*slaps Brink on the back of the head*

@Leedogg: You have mummy-phobia? Interesting case, I might need to open up a private practise here
@SourMilkMoldMan: I'll serve some Scotch if you promise not to post one word or post-number posts again!

I had the opportunity to help set up an exhibit of those same mummies. It was great fun. The skin and some organs were quite well preserved. If you ever wondered what sex 'torso man' was, you could tell by his beard! I've dug up many human skeletons before. No problem.
Now, the freshly dead or hurt people that DP deals with would really turn my stomach (although I've been through my wife having two babies - one cesarean, one natural, and felt no queasiness whatsoever. Go figure.)
