Estimates from UN-sponsored human rights groups (who have now been expelled by Putin from Chechnya) were that more than 10% of the country's population were rounded up and put into concentration camps. Many of these are still there, without charge or trial. About 2% so far have been killed. Many cities were simply demolished, and the Russian soldiers have carte blanche to take whatever they want, and whomever they want, for any purpose from any building.
