Look i will be pretty straight forward and honest about this.

SYM is a place where people have to have tough skins and understand everything is said in jest. The newbie thing is fun. We went through it. So will you. We are taking the piss. The humor here is sarcastic witty and highly highly insulting (or that is what people new here think). This is the way things are.

Look at TM and Magrus. Both are newbies but they are more accepted for their views and opinions becuase they understand how things are done here.

Magrus honestly was accepted as a poster or regular SYMer when he hit 200 posts. Because he got the jist of the website and the way things are done here.

Oozae is another one, he fits in even if he is the weirdest poster we have :D Now that to a newbie would be considered a flame. It isn't. I like the way Oozy here posts. Its unique and refreshing.

You get the idea? I have no clue why the new posters here can't just understand that. We have no problems for 4 years.

This is kind of off-topic, but how do I put faces in my posts at the reply screen?(I'm a bit computer illiterate)
i think he means smilies

you jst click the face at the right side of the screen at the reply window, and it will show up in letters and symbols. When you post it, it will be a smily.

@Fwel- no, what I mean are the faces that are within the posts themselves. For example, in CM's last post, she said"...even if he is the wierdest poster we have(smiley face)".

@CM-I understand all about the jokes and hazing. I've had to go through it when i first came to high school as well as from my wrestling team last year. i'm actually o.k. with most of it. I just agree with Fwel's hope for nicer forums.

Yes I understand that you have certain traditions. But I will not dumb my own personality just to fit to the group. I have fiqured out how things work at this place months ago, becuse I will always follow how things are done in certain forum before joining.

''The humor here is sarcastic witty and highly highly insulting''

Yes I could do such things here and there but main problem would be thing called language barrier. Even that I understand 99% of English and pretty much get most of your jokes, but I still avoid posting such things becuse no matter what it still might hurt someones feelings and that is thing that I don't want to do so.

So here is my question what about people who aren't sarcastic, witty and highly offensive? Mock them untill they will leave GameBanshee? Or will do their best to please so called COMM.

How old these Forums are anyway? Four years perhaps?

I think about 5 years.

You know, you said for none of this stuff to be taken serously, and said it was a joke. From the sounds of it, you seem pretty serious to me.

This pretty much sums it up IMO. There are some people who simply fit in immediately, and are automatically accepted by older members. They have an intuitive understanding of the often warped humour flying around the walls, they know when to take things in jest and they also know which lines not to cross.

Others take a little longer to adjust, and they need to be broken in....
Always remember... You, the newbie *will* eventually be assimilated, not the reverse. Resistance *is* Futile :p ;)

Yes it was something that you could call ''joke'' at first.

But remember this?
But still i have few points in here.
I would be so sure about it. But hey only time will tell. But I doubt it.

Dude this is a nice forum. There are certain things that are required but why isn't this a nice forum? You can't flame. We joke around. You have a pretty close knit community. I mean no matter how much we dis-agree we are respectful and keep our emotions in check.

What exactly is so not nice about this place?

Another issue is that these posters are older and a lot fo the old posters are hitting gray hair :D So they expect a certain level of maturity. The younger posters can't do that, as they are still growing up. We understand that and let them have their fun and accept them for who they are. Kids :D
