You know, McBane, fable may have been a central character in the world's first porno.

Is this intended as insightful or just sarcastic. My, how smilies would clear things up.

This is almost a certainty. Moreover, a true knowledge of porn would probably require the kind of vast resources that only a major historian could summon. For instance, not many of us could translate quotes from the porn of the Roman Empire, or discuss the kinks of modern Japanese sexual culture. And how many people out there know that the composer of the popular tone poem, the Sorceror's Apprentice, also had the largest collection of fin-de-siecle French porn ever assembled, which he donated to the Bibliotheque nationale de France?

May I recomend as an abridged reference "History Laid Bare" by Richard Zacks...A worthwhile read...

I wouldn't call it history. It's a collection of anecdotes, mainly taken from sources that simply ignored obscene or pornographic references in scenes of importance. Zacks does the easy thing by repeating the lines others omitted. There's little genuine research in it, or study about what turns people on in a given culture at a particular time. I don't mean to be tough on Zacks, but I like my history to be--well, genuine history. ;)

I'll volunteer to help with the research :D

I don't know what happened, but today nearly all the calls I've had were stupid customers who were behaving like they owned not only the company but also my a** and I'm busy to keep the emotions down - on my side AND on the customer's side...*sigh*
