I think the limit is 80 Pm:s, including sent items in your out-box.

That number seems more in keeping with what I know than any other, so I'll work from that. @Sleep, I'm a perfectionist (well sometimes and when I'm not being horribly lazy), so I want to know. OK?

Oh my, I can't believe I'm such a spammer.
You little obsessive-compulsive personality, I'll keep an eye at my PM box from now on instead of deleting the messages continously. I currently have 57 PMs, so that's at least a lower limit.

Hmmm, it looks like I can actually modify a few Private Messaging options in my Control Panel. Currently, the PM limit is set to 70, and the number of characters per PM is set to 1000. My guess is increasing these numbers will slow the board down a bit, but we can give it a try if a lot of you would like to see them increased.
Thoughts?

Yes, Mr. Satan, please! I think the PM limit of 70 is fine, but it would be nice to have longer PMs - maybe 4000 characters?

The limit on PM numbers is fine, a little small but you get used to it, but the PM length restriction can be really annoying.

Please increase it to say 2000 or more.
If everybody wants 4000, i will agree.
Just more than 1000.
Also if this makes the board slow down, i don't think anybody would mind restricting the number of pms to a smaller amount say 60 or less if need be.

I agree with the others: max. characters 2000 or more would be nice and I wouldn't mind having a smaller amount of PM's, if need be. Thanks, Mighty Buck.

I agree, that would be so much better... having slightly less PMs wouldn't matter.

Thanks a bunch Buck, it would be great to have a 4000 word limit, I can just save PMs in .txt files if I want to, but having to send them in two or more parts is a real drag - if you could up the word limit that would make me very very happy

like everyone else I find the 1000 limit really frustrating. It was in part because of the new system that I ended up getting a hotmail account....... And I really hate hotmail....
If it does not slow things down too much, a maximum of 4000 would be great!

I have since switched to another mail server, but it's nice to know that I need to forward my messages to my other account.... I will try not to go on a rant about anything related to Microcrap.....

Ok, I've increased the PM size to 4000 characters. Please let me know if there are any noticeable slowdowns.
