I am not thinking of work here (unless that IS your passion) but more the things that get us excited every day/week/month/year.
I have far to many passions, time is never enough...
My job is certainly one of my most intense passions, I had the privilige of turning my greatest intellectual passion into a job

Other "intellectual" hobbies I have is literature, classical music, and all natural sciences. I was a classical pianist when I was younger, I used to play concerts solo or with an orchestra. I have studied philosophy, literature and physics briefly - I've also been to art school, I used to paint oil on canvas and draw with charcoal. However, time doesn't allow me to be very active in these areas any longer although I'd like to. I still go to concerts and art exhibitions, but I haven't played or painted myself in a long time
My other great passion is outdoors. I used to do alpine climbing, and if you take a look at some of the places I'm going to post in the "world guide" thread, you will notice that many places I've been to are quite hilly

After almost 10 years of classical ballet training (I used to take classes at least 4 times a week) and climbing, my knees gave in and after a few surgeries, I was given the choice: quit classical dance and climbing or be in a wheelchair by 40. So I choose the former, and started to train other, less physically demanding dancing like salsa and oriental dance (belly-dancing). I love dancing, both at clubs and taking classes.
When I quit the serious climbing, I started hillwalking and hiking instead - much better for the knees and it also allows me to bring my husband. I also like kayaking, I have a paraglider and handgliding certificate - and a skydiving certificate, free falling is quite nice
Other hobbies? Travelling has always been one of my big interests, I've spent every single krona (Swedish currency) I've ever had on travelling. Climbing in New Zealand, clubbing in Paris or camel riding in the Sahara - I enjoy all of it and much more.
No wonder I never owned a TV or even a decent stereo set
Oh, how could I forget - of course computer games is also kind of a hobby

Luckily I share this with my husband, but unfortunately not with a majority of my friends. I usually spend a few evenings a week meeting friends, often for dinner since we all have to eat after work anyway and it's convenient to combine it with socialising. Almost none of my friends can cook, so we always eat out.
