Whoa! Imagine the size of the stew you could make out of
that hampster! You could feed a family of four for a week off of it! Just out of curiousity, how come it has two hampster legs as well as it's human arms and legs?

Could be, except that the encyclopedia is a serious book that dates from the early 1900's (or earlier, can't remember). It is full of all sorts of standard things like stews and roasts etc., but if you look through you can find gems like the above.
Aparently poodle is the best tasting of dogs, and became very rare in Paris during the seige (forgive the pun). Dalmation is supposed to be quite nice as well.
