Stories from the city and stories from the sea, is that one album?
Ah, uni fees... it's nice when you have parents who pay for everything, allowing you to spend your student loan on CDs :o :D

Yep, it's one album, her most recent. (No 'and' ;) )

Heh, you don't have an "ö" for Björk. :D I think she is one of the few pop musicians who really does something innovative. I also like her lyrics. :)

Miles Davis is a great musician, I think no other jazz musician has managed to follow the development of music like he has. I like both his older and more recent stuff.
I know, it is embarrasing but i couldn't remember the ASCII code for it :o And i was too lazy to look :o

He was truly great, the most innovative jazz musician, he just transcended any stereotyping with his innovation :) The return of cool, personally it never went away :)

3)Mr Scruff wow maybe me and Robnark can start up a clandestine tavern of SYM ninjatuners
Nowt wrong with Radiohead, they are one of the best bands of this generation, they could have stayed with "The Bends" formula but they decided to innovate, hats off to them for that :)

DJ Shadow rocks (or beats ;) ) I prefer Preemptive Strike, but entroducing is cool, i especially like "Midnight" Can't wait for a new album, haven't got his Brain Freeze stuff, i did like his Unkle Project collaboration with James Lavell, that was excellent

@Tamerlane PJ Harvey's album is really good, i fully reccommend it :)

2) The Smiths

I also like Charlie Parker, Dizzy, Art Blakey, John Coltraine, and Clifford Brown.

Radiohead, they are one of the best bands of this generation, they could have stayed with "The Bends" formula but they decided to innovate, hats off to them for that

celts

Well after reading the replies, seems like nobody loves Celtics music like Enya than me :(

These were the stuff I listen to while I was studying :
Guns & Roses, Metallica, Kansas, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Level 42, Spandau Ballet.

@Sleepo : I listen to Miles too but not so often. I prefer light jazz :) I hate Kenny G since his music are more into Pop nowadays than Jazz - But I still love to listen to his "SongBird" IIRC

<EDIT> I forget to add TOTO, so who listens them too ? :)

First off, I would like to thank Tamerlane for making me feel old by saying:

Grew up?? Sigh...

1) XTC
2) Midnight Oil
3) REM/Smithereens/Smiths/Sundays/Charlatans UK/Bob Mould/I'll stop before this gets too long

Some opf the freeform work can get a little tiresome, but generally i like everything Davis' did, he had a unique style, he also innovated, which IMO is one of the most important things that arists can do, if it doesn't work it doesn't matter, at least they tried :)

That reminds me of Cassiopea used to love them.

As for innovations I recall one of The Rippingtons album titled "Welcome to St. James Club" - where they try to innovate certain stuff than their usual style, and they turn out really nice :)
