If he is using Crom Faeyr then he doesn't need the girdle of strength, I usually have him with girdle of bluntness etc. During occasions when he is not using Crom Faeyr, I just have him imbibe giant strength potions (I am very surprised that I have between 8 to a dozen bottles of strength potions toward the end of the game).

hmm, hard to tell...haven't tried Korgan yet. Anomen is my toughest tank if I load him with spells. If I know there's a tough battle ahead, I cast (in this particular order): Holy Power, Call Upon Holy Might, Righteous Magic and Defensive Harmony. Maybe even the damage absorbing armor-thing (lvl1). He is quite effective then. I had Minsc duel Sarevok with quite similar equipment and having them use only their own abilities/magics. Minsc beat Sarevok hands down almost every time, only the Deathbringer assault could save Sarevok's sorry ass.

I have to say Anomen at this point.
By the way, I don't find him annoying at all. I like his arrogance and that puritan attitude. He is just like a young knight should be. Virtous and righteous, yet so so noble.

I've heard about this trick, but have never persoanlly tested it. I"m giving it to you free, no charge, because you've already paid your dues having anomen around your party.
armor of faith stack, and each absorbs 25% physical and magic damage.
cast 4 times, and your cleric becomes a true walking tank. cast 5 times, 125% and physical and magic attacks will actually HEAL that character.
everytime I drop into the copper cornet and see anomen I make it a point to turn him into a squirrel.

So spells that stacks is actually bugs then? what about lower resistance?
I try to not use bugs, doesnt feel right

Not all stacking spells are bugs. Some were ment to stack some werent, the trouble is sorting them out

Reminds me of those witch unters back in the middle ages, who would have you hung for your own good.
Besides, I'm just in character. I choose chaotic good because they" don't like people telling them what to do" in the alignment discription, as I'd imagine a child of bhaal would have people try to exploit her all her life. (I play a female character because I don't ifentify with fictional characters, and I hate all the male voices)
My hatred for anomen, however, doesn't even begin my hatred for jan. took him along for a week, just got so grating ended up doing something nasty, like send him out as lich fodder or dragon lunch, and went back to yoshimo.
jan just gets to my nerves. too bad my playing style would make jan extremely useful. I use very high magic paties, and love traps, and ja is the only multi class thief in the game, so the only one who could get the really cool spike traps.

I personally like Jan a lot...his funny stories, and it seems like whenever the evil genius/boss starts talking, Jan has something to say - totally deflates the moment. I love that. He is however, no tank, and hence would not get my vote for the topic - "Best Tank"

I couldn't agree more on your view of Anomen. I think he's a great NPC and use him in most of my parties.

I think most overlook how formidable Anomen Can be. At first he may have annoying personality (I don't think so, but I can understand why someone should feel so), but gets better when joins tOotRH. When pumped up with clerical boost spells he can become the most dangerous melee character (OK, only for a single big fight, but can still make good work in all those lesse encounters) in the whole game. But 'tis just my opinion....

Heh, imho some of the best tanks can be fighter that got high very high hit point, and theyre dualed to mage, then tensor transformation, and insane 2x hp, the highest ive ever see any pure fighter hp is 250 i think, maybe even 275? but with tensor transformation and few other buffs ive seen hp skyrocket into the 400+
(whoops off topic)
anway imho ja and misic are some of the better tank because misic with some level 1-3 druid/clerc spells can buff himself up a bit, not like an kenshi/mu, or an ranger/clerc but he can still buff himself up a bit, and ja is good she can use armor and do some clerc and all the druid spells to help, and druids are the masters of summoning so she can summon in middle of battle with her -10 ac armor
