Jennabard stopped laughing and stood right in front of loner. " he'll leave you, you know. they always do. love is an illusion, loner. pain is the only thing thats real. pain and betrayal. i should know." she walked away and began to sing 'devil you know' under her breath.

Tears came into Loner's eyes, but not because of what Jennabard had said. Because of the radical, inexplicable change she had undergone. Completely aghast, Loner whispered aloud: "What is causing this?..."

A chill went up her spine. Yes indeed...it seemed they were in for something, more than they bargained for.

Georgi turned to Loner. "Do you know anything about Jennabard's past? I don't know... maybe Dragonwench is the best person to ask. Anyway, I guess the noise woke up Kramor. We ought to get going, if you think you can deal with JB...?"

"Uhh...no, I don't know anything about her past," Loner answered. She realized she didn't know an awful lot about her comrades' pasts, actually...

"Yes, I...think I can handle her," she went on, warily. In truth she had her doubts. "I guess I'd better see if Kramor's all right. If I know him he's probably cursing that he can't help with whatever caused the commotion." She hugged Georgi again. "Come back," she said, and turned into Kramor's room.

Georgi grabbed her arm. "You're getting absent-minded, huh? We still need to know where we're going..." ;)

Loner raised an eyeborw at Georgi, and smiled wryly. "That's what I plan to ask him. I need to get into the room first." :p

Kramor's anger was now beyond pissed. He couldn't move, didn't have a weapon and his back hurt. All he waited for was a pack of gibberlings, come busting in the door. Georgi and Loner, entered the room. Kramor's mood didn't change, he just glared at the two women.

"Hey Kramor, looks like your doing better. Look Loner, he has some color." Georgi said with a smirk. "I heading out to the area, where you were shot, I need to know how to get there."

"Loner, could you hand me my pack please."

Loner handed Kramor his pack, he pulled out a map and showed Georgi, the marked areas where he was at. He also showed her, where Anomen had disappeared on the trail.

"Ok. We'll go out, do a bit of scouting, see what we find. Give us three days. We'll get to the bottom of this."

She turned to Loner. "You take care of him. Don't let him do anything too... strenuous." ;)

Loner turned every imaginable shade of red. "I will. Uh, take care of him, I mean..."

Kramor turned red himself, he looked at Loner.
"Did you do what I asked you to do? Did you do something relaxing?"

Georgi interrupted. "There's a bit of a... situation involving Jennabard. That's what the noise was."

She hugged Loner again. "Talk to Dragonwench," she reminded her, before retreating.

Loner sat on the edge of the bed. "There hasn't been much time," she answered. "And I would really rather stay here with you...if that's all right. I've missed you."

Kramor pulled Loner to him, kissed her.
"You can stay, but you need to relax."
Holding her to him, he whispered, "I missed you too."

A group of ten riders, moved along the trail, tracking those who had attacked their village. They were being lead by a half orge, who told them he would help track down the bandits. He took them thought the thickest part of the forest. The tracker stopped suddenly, signaling that he was going ahead to look around. After the tracker had gone ahead, the men on the horses waited nervously. Then the birds stopped singing, only sound that was heard next. Was arrows flying through the air and hitting the men on the horses. They all fell lifeless to the ground. The tracker came back to gather the horses and left. Leaving the bodies for the wolves.

Georgi slowed, and checked the map Kramor had given her. "We're close now. It might be a good idea if we continue on foot..." she fell silent as their path turned round a corner, and she saw the pile of dead bodies on the trail. Despite her years as a warrior, Georgi felt dizzy for a moment. There was something particularly brutal about this, and it made her sick to her stomach.

Ooc: I'm a bit out of it due to the weekend, but I'll attribute that to the ditziness of a mage ;)

Vivien had found a perfect little spot, a tree limb reachable from a second floor balcony, with a fresh breeze, and leaves rustling around her it was like being home. She sighed happily and sank to rest on the limb to meditate and refresh her mind.

Clearing her mind took only a minute ( ;) ), and she soon was running through her list of spells. A chirping sound distracted her and she watched as a young sparrow swooped past, seeming to revel in it's dives. she sighed, wondering what it would be like to fly like that. Sure, adept mages could teleport, and someday she hoped to achieve that, but to FLY! To soar free. That would be a task worthy of true heroes. The bird chirped again and she looked towards it, seeing through the branches figures on the ground moving away from the keep. Straining her eyes, they looked like her companions, some of them at least.

"Hey, what's happening!" She shouted stepping towards them, realizing too late where she was. Luckily her leaf tunic was adept and protected her from the tree branch, climbing down, she ran towards her companions.

"Georgi? Jennabard? Gwalchmai? What's happening?"

Her friends turned worried and strained faces towards her and Georgi motioned towards a horse. Vivien climbed into the saddle and was soon learning about more mysterious occurances.

Ooc: Gwalchmai is going with the group?

Kramor left the room, letting Loner sleep. He wondered when the last time she did sleep. He got his sword, sitting in the sun at the inner court yard. Kramor sharpened his sword, and oiled his leather scabbard. He went and got some food and brought it out to the courtyard. Enjoying the sunlight, it had been awhile, to relax like this.

Loner had the best sleep she'd had in weeks. But when she awoke, Kramor was gone.

"Damn it," she said aloud, "you're always going off, leaving and doing stuff, before you're properly healed...you'll get yourself killed one of these days..." etc. etc., to the absent Kramor. She suspected he had gone off to follow the others, in search of Anomen, and some answers to what was going on. But as she flew down the Keep stairs, she saw him from a window, He was in the inner courtyard, sitting in a chair and dozing. She let out a deep breath. He, at least, was all right. But she gazed out the window and wondered about her friends. She had had troubled dreams lately.

Gwalchmai leapt off his horse, and moved a little closer to examine the bodies. He shrugged. "Locals, perhaps? I think you are right, Georgi, let's leave the horses, and be on our guard."

Georgi looked at Jennabard anxiously, hoping she wasn't going to do anything to endanger anyone else. "Don't attack unless they strike first," she warned the group, looking straight at Jennabard. "We're here to find out what's going on. So let's spread out and find their camp. Ok, how about some cover?"

Jennabard and Vivien quickly cast invisibility on the four of them, and they faded into the woodland.
