@Fable- I'm at university in England doing Medicine. I try to limit my TV watching- I'm not really that bothered by it because its so useless. I've always thought that the choice would be good with cable or digital but I'm not convinced.

Still, I wouldn't say no!

@Brink, its been my (admittedly limited) experience that nurses and doctors are the last ones to play "examination," given the seriousness of what they do for a living. Which isn't to say that they're unaware of interesting, extremely sensitive spots on the human anatomy, mostly located along vein lines.

@Fable- This examination stuff was provoked by me because somebody asked what I learned that day or something similar.

Anything medical I ever quote on this forum is strictly from my own personal experience and nothing to do with what I've been taught. I don't think it would be particularly wise for me to be a fountain of medical knowledge when I'm not qualified to be, nor do I think that this is the place.

Vein lines? I'm intrigued.

@Vix, I wasn't implying that you would. My questions were exactly as straightforward as they appear.

As to vein lines, I forget exactly what my wife (who's now a hospital-based Informatics Specialist, but was, for over 12 years, an intensive care RN) calls 'em. A feather touch along the skin above many prominent veins can be...rather stimulating.

Forgive the interjection, but seems to me there's no reason to believe that veins necessarily follow identical paths to nerves, especially those ending close to the surface (which are the ones you want to concentrate on

) Could it be you just have a big ol' throbbin' vein coincidently where many of those nerves come to the surface?

LOL! I'll have to wait to ask my wife for a detailed explanation until she gets home, but to try this out, just get a SO to lightly walk a finger along the carotid artery (okay, arteries, too), or the veins in your lower arms and wrists.

Maybe it only works on people who have very pronounced arteries and veins. I'll check, and post back when I get an "authoritative" answer.
