Waverly had hoped that Georgi would side with him and do the killing.. or dying. He didn't like the confidence in Loner's eyes and wondered what she was up to. Should he kill her in cold blood and then face Georgi?

He thought up a backup plan and thought it up quickly.. Casting polymorph other, he turned Loner into a black panther. Dangerous, yes, but probably not as dangerous as Loner herself. He yelled to Georgi, "Quickly, help me! she has changed shape again."

{OOC: uhh, help...can I think in this form? }

Georgi observed that the panther didn't attack, and quickly cast hold on Enoch, and then polymorphed Loner back to her own shape. "I have a theory who the traitor here is," she said, looking Enoch up and down suspiciously. "What do you think, Loner?"

Loner had never been polymorphed and was still reeling from the experience. She shook her head to clear the cobwebs. "Mmm. I told you I had my suspicions..." She looked at Georgi. "Thanks for...not killing me."

Kramor heard the screams, in his head. He woke with a start, it has been ten years, since he had heard the terror. The same time, Dp when on the attack against the Drow. Kramor got walked out of the tent, past everyone, not saying a word. He headed down river........

(OOC LOL I think we're getting a bit anachronistic never mind eh )

Remembering that Enoch was still aware of his surroundings, Georgi drew Loner a little way off, and lowered her voice. "Well, I guess I trust you more than Sir Enoch here... We don't know a thing about him. For all we know, he's not even a paladin."

"Well," said Loner, "I can pretty much guarantee you he's not a paladin. A paladin has a very distinct ki signature, and he doesn't have it. I don't know what he is, but he scares me."

"Okay... so what are we going to do about him when the spell wears off?"

Kramor followed the river, he found Dp's things. For some reason, he kept walking. Kramor caught the coppery smell, before he reached the camp and it's horror. Bodies were everywhere, hanging from trees, and all over the ground. Kramor sat on a wagon tongue, staring at the carnage.

Loner thought for a moment. "Well, we have two choices," she said finally. "We can play his game and act like we trust him...if it's not too late for that. Then observe him carefully. If he feels comfortable, he may slip up and hang himself. Or, we can chain him up and beat the truth out of him. Either way is terribly risky..."

"Well, you know me," Georgi grinned, "I'm all for beating it out of him. Well, if he has nothing to hide then he'll talk and we won't have to beat him."

Waverly came to and breathed deeply while looking around. Seems like his cover was blown for good. They were never going to trust him... but if he merely escaped with his work unfinished he would never get his body and spirit mended. He would slip from this world and become but a shadow.

He looked over at Loner and Georgi deep in discussion and as he heard the word 'Ki' flew into a rage. His spell triggers went off and his defenses went up. Simultaneously he cast horrid wilting at the duo and drew his sword.

"HA!!" cried Loner. "Horrid wilting? Surely you can do better."

She was certainly glad she still carried the Razor of the Night +5 on her person. A deadly weapon when properly employed, and a protection against a particular spell of the necromantic school.

Kramor found a shovel, he started to bury the dead. As he was pulling a body out of the trees, he was attacked by three wolves. Kramor didn't hear them until, they were on top of him. He took some deep bites on his legs and arms. Kramor, killed the last one, but not before, the wolf slashed his face. Bleeding now, he headed back to camp.

Loner drew the Katana and went in, slowly, confidently, with no expression on her face. She had stopped wearing armor, as befitted a kensai. She was wearing the bracelet Thantor had given her, which would act as a mind shield should the need arise.

(err, Loner, how many weapons do you have on your person? )

While loner wasted time taunting Waverly and describing her gadgets to him, he placed a delayed blast fireball between them and waited for her rage to take over.

{OOC @Waverly: Just the two, darling. The Razor is quite small and can fit in one of my cloak pockets. The staff is back in the tent }

Loner had been working on that rage thing. She was once again going into battle calm and collected, a kind of Forgotten Realms Musashi { }. She cooly advanced, then stopped. "Come ahead and face me at close quarters, you damnable coward."

Georgi dodged quickly out of the area of effect of Enoch's spell. She cast a few spells on the knight to remove his magic protections, and then hurled a few magic missiles to soften him up for Loner.

Kramor saw Loner and Enoch, starting to fight. He saw that Enoch, wasn't a paladin. Taking a dagger, Kramor threw it at Enoch. The dagger hit him in the side. Kramor fell face down in the leaves.

Waverly was pleased to see Loner taking her time, and summoned a Mordenkainen's Sword to greet her.
