I went out to one of the more famous BBQ joins near Austin on Monday night, The Salt Lick. They have really good sauce, and when you get family style (and you're an idiot if you don't) it's all you can eat meat and sides.

Beef ribs, sausage, brisket, potato salad, bread... halepeno BBQ sauce.... it's awesome.

And the area it is in is a dry county so you can't buy beer, but you can bring your own. So you get to choose your own beer, buy it much cheaper than normal in a restaurant. Fill up a cooler and just chill out drinking and eating BBQ.

Texas is still partially the Bible belt. There are some random blue laws still scattered about. Like you can't buy anything more than 3/2 beer on Sundays (maybe some wine I can't remember).

You gorget this is where good ol' Dubya came from. There are plenty of thumpers around.

What? Someone mentioned BBQ, and I was craving some meat. All I've had today are two bowls of Cheerios, upon which I applied lavish amounts of sugar. :D
