Nevermind! I am just not used to Windows Vista. All I needed to do was run the program as administrator. The editor works great!

Hex Editor Question

Is there anyway to change youre existing character's inventory once you've made the changes so it works on vista? The character editor I dovloaded, V1.5, doesnt work anymore. More specifically, I want to change my character's weapons and armor to certain "Special" equipment.

What about vista?

I can't get any of the Character editors to work with the new settings I had to use to get my game to work with Windows Vista. Do you have a Solution?

I have a problem with the v1.5

A: I've got the "Monster In Space" thing going on. I know that if I go back to a known location on the map, it'll go away... however, is there any way to stay at my current location?

B: BIG PROBLEM

I've got the loading screen up... but I've been waiting 15 minutes and nothing has loaded. Is there any way to bypass this or fix it? Would I just have to go and change some things before trying to load the character? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)

Is there any way to aquire new weapons with this trainer? I was hoping to get to choose some weapons that I don't currently have to use in the game. Is there any way to do that? Or would I just have to wander around and aquire them manually?

I like this editor alot. I got stuck after loading a savegame, and with this editor, I got unstuck! Thanx a ton! :D The only prob is when I try to add some dragon gloves to my invent. It gives me an error message. Could you help me get through this prob? :( The error message reads: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately." The text box has three buttons: Details, Continue, and Quit. Any help will be appreciated. Thanx!

Queen, are you trying to equip the item to your character? That may be your problem because you cannot equip an item. You have to wait until you're in the game to actually equip it.

First, you go to the "Items" tab, then click the "Add" button. You'll then get a list that has four categories: Armor, Magic, Miscellaneous, and Weapons. Click the category of items you want, then go from there. Problem solved!

how do i use the item idit option what does qauntity1 and qauntity2 mean i dont know what to put there and if i put anything there when i play its never in my enventory so if someone could help me out please

First look at how the program handles items you've already got. Notice that for items you only have one of both values appear as 0. If you have two however it is represented as 2 in th second value; 3 in Quantity2 = 3 etc..

However charged items are handled differently, the first value represents the number of charges multiplied by 100, th second the number of charges left. So, if you have two Freezing Touch spells (which a mage starts the game with) then it will read.

Magic-Arcane Books - Freezing Touch- 200 - 200 (assuming it's fully charged)
This is incorrect, Arcane spells, unlike Crystals and Rune Stones is 1==1, not * 100
Healing and other potions have 0 in the first value and the number of 'charges' (i.e. number of potions - no multiplier used here) in the second value.


Runestones and Crystals are handled the same way as Arcane spells.

Katals are handled like potions. But Nether spells and Rune spells as Arcane Spells.

Be careful when using the editor, it has a few flaws. Firstly you'll drop levels, but not Advancement Points, Attributes or Skills. However some effects are nerfed, but can be restored by adding points to the related attribute or skill.

For example, I used it recently (to give a quest item which vanished before I could pick it up), before using it my Dwarf Paladin/Knight had damage +71, after using the editor it had dropped to +46, but adding 1 point of strenght restored it.

The biggest bug with the editor though is that if you use it after starting a promotion quest, the quest will be broken, so NEVER use the editor under those circumstances.

Now, maybe you have a different version, galraen, but in my version, the charges are multiplied by 1. For example: Vinny the mage has 30 charges of Magic Missile. If he edits the spell to get 50 charges, the quantities will read:

Quantity1: 50
Quantity2: 50

So Vinny will have 50 charges out of 50 charges total.

I've just checked again, and you're right. I could swear I copied the Freezing Touch example from the editor, I guess my eyes must have wandered to the next line.

help v1.5 trainer problem

Could anyone possibly help

I have downloaded a trainer which works with version 1.5 collector edition,

the trainer works with saved files when runnung with windows 2000, due to the problems assocated with vista i have had to run the program in admin compatibly.

These files seem to be roaming.

I have found the files in the search option,

c:\user\bob\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows

when i try to load a save game and go to this location i can't fild the file have looked for hours.

help would be apprriciated thanks.

I have tryed this and im only getting the save files associated with running the program normally and my save files for running in admin are not present.

problem being i am now alot further thorugh the game running in admin.

hey, i downloaded the editor, and it isn't working. i'm running v1.4 upgraded from 1.3 just so i can use this editor. the editor runs fine, and i can change all the fields, but when i save the changes and run the game, nothing has happened. what am i doing wrong?

BTW, i've been searching for an editor/trainer for a long time. since this game came out. glad i found this one. i've never seen an editor this intricate for ANY game. great job, steve and george!! (can't leave george out, he's doing the customer support)
