We have police new to the force who come in and do "stings", which are used to see whether companies are selling tobacco or alcohol to minors. Generally, they use people new to the police force who look under age. However, it IS illegal to be drunk in public in the US, just for a nominal statement of fact I suppose.

They have Trading Standards do that sort of thing here, that's all fully organised and such, no young-looking police officers involved.

I don't know how that works out because they allow people to drink at concerts and vegas you can be wasted on the street getting more wasted =p

Great thing about being stoned in the US is as long as you got nothing on you you can be high as hell and police can't do anything about it.

Oh, I agree. I went out a few times--usually against my will--stoned off my rocker, and I'm glad nothing came of that. Although one time was kind of embarrassing; we went to this English pub in town, and I was so out of it, that when my friend ordered a lager--Harp I think, I so forget--I wouldn't stop saying, "I want a Harper, I want a Harper." She told me to stop, because I was acting like I was drunk, which she knew I most certainly was not. -bats eyes innocently-
