So anyway, I'll get back on topic... :p

Did you like Mournhold Expanded? I thought it was too different to Mournhold itself for my liking. A lot of it didn't seem to fit in with most of the rest of the game. Maybe that's just me...
Well... I had Mournhold Expanded when I first came back to the game the other week, but I actually haven't included it in this "new" install..which says something ;)

Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing mod of exceptional quality, and it's obvious that many hours and much love went into creating it.
But... I tend to agree.. it doesn't really feel like Morrowind, at least not my personal interpretation of it anyway. For example spas and resorts seem... out of place, all things considered, not to mention a little too contemporary. Of course, things like this are always going to be highly subjective. It's why so many of the comments beneath the mods at File Planet annoy me so much.. I mean, it's all about personal taste, so if you don't like it, don't use it. I really don't blame so many of the modders for disallowing comments and voting.. But I digress.. :D

I tend to prefer mods that generally hold to what I perceive as the spirit of the game, while still adding something new. This is why I installed A Call to Issilar, it retains the original feel of Morrowind, yet it breathes new life into the atmosphere of Vvardenfell.
I know there are other examples just on the edge of my conscience, but I'm a bit preoccupied by RL just now, so I'm a bit hazy with my recollections. :D

I understand what you're saying about Mournhold Expanded DW, but I would recommend anyone to go through it once. It is a bit 'modernistic' with its theme parks and all, but well worth one visit, like any theme park.

I find Greg's comments about Oblivion very strange, as in my experience as a straight mage it's the easiest game I've ever played, I made Arch-Mage by 4th level and finished the main quest not long after. Having all the magic schools as major skills meant gaining levels was a really slow process, which of course does make the game too easy.

I didn't say I didn't have a copy. I just haven't touched it in forever and I wondered what some of the more recent texture packs look like.

Ah yes. I got that mixed up. The levelling system is problematic if you level up a lot of your major skills quickly, and if they aren't combat-orientated. Quite easy to do with, say, alchemy, security etc. The levelling system is very difficult to balance - it never provides a reasonable challenge.

Just dug up a few of the quest mods I've played through. Korobal was good - setting up a base on a landmass to the west of Vvardenfel. I seem to remember it being better than Raven Rock. Apostates of Oblivion is quite good, storywise. The Lost City (either the prequel or sequel to Apostates of Oblivion) was also excellent.

I was referring to Oblivion for DW.
