Game is in stores today and available for purchase through direct download at Direct2Drive.com and other outlets.
For downloads, you mean--but then, you miss out on any printed materials, such as a manual. I'm also uncertain how well a download would transfer onto multiple CDs if you wanted to save it for future installation. Meanwhile, the single remaining national chain that covers the US, Gamespot (who purchased EB Games, recently) have said it won't be in until tomorrow, because it ships, today.
And the grunt I spoke to on the phone yesterday assured me they'd "hardly get in any copies, because nobody buys PC games anymore."

Sure enough - I could not find any copies for sale today. I reserved a DVD copy from Gamestop for a $5 deposit and will pick it up tomorrow.
I almost used direct2drive to download it - I have used them before for cheaper games and it has worked well. For NWN2 I want the game manual and DVD so I can wait another 24 hours.

Hmm - not sure I can test the game when I get it - because it appears my graphics card just blew up. At least I couldn't turn on my computer without putting an older card in - one I doubt can play NwN2 ..... *grrrrr*

One question here:
Reviews (on Gamespot for instance) say that NVIDIA GeForce 6600 is a minimum, but according to smass, NWN2 supports NVIDIA GeForce 6500 which is my graphics card.
If my computer otherwise fulfils the specs, does anyone know if I can expect the game to run decently? Possibly with graphics minimized.

I've read that it supports Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 and above (much lower than your card already). Since I have an Fx5500 and just got the game, as soon as it's done installing, I'll let you know if it works just fine on mine.
Well that was great wasted money and time. The game doesn't run at all on my PC. SO laggy. Hmm, guess I gotta wait till christmas or something for a new video card as I'm totally broke.

Ok, thanks for the report anyway. If any others have experience trying out the game below the min requirements, I would appreciate any information.
(And those requirements are really rather nutty, aren't they?)

I meet the minimum requirements, however, my video card is a radeon 9550. For those less adept in the video card world, a 9550 is a knock off of the 9600. Less power, and pretty much, worse than the 9500. I play with everything on medium and it's decent. It's not lag free mind you, but, definately playable. Even more so on lowest settings.
