Since I'm still early in the game, I have all Chitin armour (AC 10 when the best items I've found even in Heavy Armour are AC 5) and an enchanted longsword. Will the bound items be better, and is it really worth having to cast all of those spells before a battle?
You can create enchanted items - CE ones work best.

The spell creates a weightless Daedric version of the item with different associated effects. Sword gives +10 to Long Blade, boots give +10 to speed, cuirass gives +5 to ALL armour skills (including unarmoured). You can create spells that last about 2 minutes, and they are quite cheap IIRC.

While I agree it has some good features it also has two armour skills (Unarmoured/Light Armor) both as minors which for inexperienced players is not a particularly good idea.

Some points to consider...

The Apprentice: effectively wipes out a Breton's natural magic reistance and saddles a Dark Elf with a fifty percent weakness. It might just be me but it seems like there could be better choices of sign.

This build has no melee weapon skill as a major/minor, which even with Bound Items would make close combat rather dangerous.

Marksman seems to be wasted on a build that relies so heavily on magic, and as a minor skill it will take a tremendous amount of time before it can hit regularly.

Block like Marksman seems out of place, as by all accounts this build seems to specialise in ranged combat. Also as a minor skill, it will offer very little protaction and is quite difficult to train (without paying for it).

I appreciate that by level 91 it may have been good but it seems like it would be quite difficult at lower levels, was this the case?
But for the bound weapon spells - 10pts extra for a weapon skill is desirable -especially in a mage. Although, again you could enchant something - in this case it would probably have to be CE.
Yes indeed. I almost always enchant a ring or other item with CE Bound Longbow, Bound Boots and Bound Longsword. Very handy!

Doesn't bound longbow cancel out bound longsword?

No, I don't think so. I'm sure I've had both bound longsword and longbow at the same time. The unequipped weapon just stays in your inventory like a normal weapon until the spell runs out. The same goes with bound armour. If you unequip it then it stays in your inventory til the end of the spell.

That has been my experience as well.
