I fight anything that attacks me. I don't like fighting Cliff Racers. They always seem to find me when I don't want a fight. I also hate Vampires. I don't like getting cursed. I kill anything else without thinking though and just hope it's not a key character in the game.

Ugh do i ever hate cliff racers... I'll be sprinting from one end of the continent to another, lose my concentration for one minute, have to stop because I've hit the side of a mountain... And a flock of 30-some will be pecking at my head. Where in the heck do they come from?!
Oh and those darn elemental-type thingies that damage you when you get closed to them... If you can't kill em in four hits, you're dead

lol! You know, when I started this thread, my intention was not to initiate a rant about cliff racers
Rather, I was just curious if there are creatures you would rather not have to kill, because they are appealing in some way. For me that applies to the wolves and bears of Solstheim, and also guars.
IMO, there is really nothing appealing about cliff racers, beyond the possible exception of providing for handy target practice

DW shame on you, you should have learned by now that your intent is irrelevant, if anyone person complains about a popular issue, rantings will occur.
there isnt anything i would like to kill, although i am thinking about creating a calm/control creature (or whateer the effec tis called) and soul trap on target spell and then go around Vvardenfel casting it on every creature i encounter, hoping they will follow me into balmora and then i will se how long it taeks for the gaurds to be overwhelmed... :mischief:
on second thought, i wouldnt like to kill gaurds early on, simply because that tends to draw mroe gaurds, and that tends to ge tme killed.

Wow you people must play a boring game if you are all so unwilling to kill things. Of course I find it a minor nuisance to pull out my hands and fireball them but it does amuse me greatly.
About the NPCs. How can any of you stand to let them live?? Jesus the damn things drive me batty. Although for me the game is mainly a race to see how fast I can kill everything in sight, since I am an evil evil little man.
Only thing I dislike killing - Those damned guys who always spawn after you have that dreams, Ash Slaves or the like, and even then its cause I can't use my large and impressive spells on them(I'm a fan of overkill).

Not at all, sometimes a cerebral approach to the game is just as rewarding.
One of the best things about Morrowind is that you have the option, you do not have to kill if you do not wish to.
You are presented with the opportunity to solve quests in a number of ways bribery, diplomacy, manipulation, stealth, theft, healing, solving riddles, and yes violence (although it does not always have to be fatal)

Because my sociopathy manifests as a desire to manipulate others as oppose to doing them any physical harm.
Although for me the game is mainly a race to see how fast I can kill everything in sight, since I am an evil evil little man.
Would you not be happier playing something less involved like Doom, Duke Nuke'Em or Resident Evil?

Not really, I still enjoy RPG style games. I just like to get things done the simplest way possible, which usually involves me blasting/slicing whatever stands in my way.
Its just that I got bored after the good 300 hours I put into the game during the summer pimping out my char and walking around trying to be diplomatic. So now I am trying a new approache. Kill it all and grab the booty. I still love the whole collecting of items and spells and new abilities, but blasting things is still my first love.

Fair enough, you've tried both approaches and found one suits you more.
Were we D&D wizards you'd be specialising in Evocation magics, where as I'm definitely more of an Enchanter/Illusionist type.

I hate cliffracers.. as does most it seems. But I don't like killing wolves.. especially when I'm playing as a werewolf.. in werewolf form. That just seems illogical. Surely you would think Werewolves and wolves would be on friendly terms with each other, besides, I like wolves.

The thing that annoys me is when a normally passive NPC attacks you (the first time this happened I was on the bridge past fort moonmoth, attacked by damn cliff racer and some necromancer attacks me cos I have a weapon out).
Is it me, or does Vvardenfell have no herbivores (other than netch and one type of kwama...) - I mean, a guar is basically a horse (theres a book saying about some guy riding a guar) so why is it aggressive? The food chain must be crazy...
There should be some animals that run away...

If you are on PC there are mods that alter this imbalance...

Yes indeed!
I use mods that add beautiful water life... birds, bees

D), rabbits, squirrels, zebras and donkeys, moose and fireflies. This makes quite a big difference to the playing experience.

yea i hear u guys. cliff racers, guars, alit, rats, and kwama are extremely annoying. i hate it so much cuz when i start a new character i have to use the silt striders and stuff to get to places without dying. and also when ur walking to ur new stronghold, u cant get there without being attacked by something. the hlaalu stronghold isnt so bad cuz its really close to balmora, but the redoran and the telvanni are a) wayyy to far away from civilized areas, and b) the paths aredusually swarming with creatures, and none of them are friendly (except for the scribs. cute lil buggers

) so yea. im envious of those wit that mod that allows creatures that would not normally attack people become creatures that dont attack people. same goes with the marine animals. cant go for a nice, brisk swim in a river without something trying to kill u! but i really like those mods that allow real, pleasent creatures like squirrels, duck, ect. to be there.my friend has that mod and it looks REALLY nice! too bad i got xbox though*sighs*.

Just to clarify, this thread is not about enemies you'd rather not fight because you hate them.
Rather, it is about not wanting to battle automatically hostile creatures or humanoids because you *really* would prefer not to have to kill them.
For example, I think guars are kind of cute, so I don't like to fight them. In fact, to solve this problem, I have Sabregirl's Morrowind Ecology mod installed which makes all wildlife passive, with the exception of blighted creatures and (for some odd reason) kwama foragers.
