I make a pretty good editor...
and I have some friends that do a lot of writing...mostly D&D stuff...very funny material...
in fact, i have one friend in particular who is a writer and is currently playing BGII. he already has a pretty good grasp of the characters and their personalities. i'm sure that he would be more than happy to help...

Beautiful, Manveru,

edwin's romance needs to be funny... somehow i see handcuffs in his future :D ;) :D

with kivan/valygar, their romance will probably be more like jaheira, where they are trying to figure the PC out.

i'm free from class so i can help too. i have alot of spamming to do. :)

some one should bump the old romance script thread.

Very impressive Manveru!
Your Edwin scripts are most interesting and it seems that you have a good grasp on the characters in BG2. Keep up the good work!

Oh yeah, I was wondering if you could tell me how to incorporate your custom scripts and characters into my game. Thanks!

After downloading archives you have to put all files from archive to override folder in your BG2 main folder.

You will find BG2 folder in your Program Files/Black Isle folder where BG2 is installed by default unless you installed your BG2 in other folder, but then you may know how it is named.

After putting NPC's , scripts files in override it will work when you start game or load save game next time, like bonus merchants - for now I'm almost sure that all my NPCs are compatile with ToB, however I will have to check game in aim to clarify it.

As for the story I would be grateful for any help in making custom romances.
I would like to have Solaufein, the dark elf, as a romance option. Imagine all the interesting intrigues between him and Anomen - that would make a nice contrast!

@CE Elegans - I'm still interested in making Solaufein romance - this could be "Drowish" option for female NPCs and because Bioware is not planning any game on basis of Infinity Engine it is up to me , customizators / storywriters what we could do next.

I would be grateful also for all quests suggestions, side quests whatever - I have some fine areas made (even this mentioned in the past "Pantheon" for Gamebanshee characters - however it is not named "Pantheon")

If you have your protagonist and would like to give him some interesting story I will put such an NPC into Eregion Wizards add-on "Pantheon of Chaos" (Romances produced here will be also integral part of this add-on)

Also all fans of "Fallout" are invited to corporation. If you want to check my fallout achievements then here is one picture from BG2 :)

http://worldzone.net/games/manveru/Baldr001s.jpg

I have much more , however I don't want to reveal too much - if anyone is interested in corporation in making main add-on plot/story then send me an email so I will send you my current story in aim to discuss it, correct.

if Soualfin would be a romance, it would be an end tail romance, as most started way back in chapter two, and here you would be getting him just at the end of the underdark. It goes without saying that he would be a new NPC, but when would he join? after you spare his life? Phaere would recognize him in your group, but i'm sure you could have him meet up with you at the door to exit the underdark, that would make sense... sorta...

But also, if you did make him a romance, you would have to make a NPC dialoge between him and Viconia, and where do you think THAT would go? If you're a guy romancing Viconia, you have a duel to the death with him, if the otherway around, Viconia tries to poison you in your sleep... the possibilities are finite...

note. i am a very bad speller, so i know i misspelled things.

Bad spellers of the world, UNTIE!!!

i was thinking that there could be a rivalry between edwin and valygar since valygar hates magic.

Since you already get the dialogue option to ask him to join you after you have spared his life, it would make perfect sense I think. :) I'll try to think about how the rest of the problems should be solved...

This happens in the game:

Phaere commands you to kill Solaufein. If you don't do this, Solaufein disclose to you
he doesn't share the values of the drow community and that he's going to live as an outcast hereafter. You get the dialogue choice to ask him to join your party, but he says this is impossible and that he will make his way to the surface.

Now, if the script is changed so Solaufein can join your party, he might for instance be waiting for you outside Ust Nasha, and you pick him up when your done there. Or, if technically possible, he could appear in a dimension door just before you fight Phaere and the Mother Matron. Imagine the dialogue between him and Phaere when she realises he has also betrayed her :D

Either way, when Solaufein has joined, he should start flirting with the female PC more or less immediately.
You met Solaufein first thing in Drow city, so you have been aquitances for a while. Then, you spare his life, he admits the secret of his life to you and join your group. Since this is a rather extreme situation, no special quest is needed for the two of you to get closer to each other. The romance script could start off immediatly, with Solaufein giving the PC some compliments when he joins. More romance dialogue should follow when you exit Underdark and when you rest for the first time. (For instance, Solaufein could give the PC compliments about her looks when Aldalon turn you back to normal again. Remember, he has never seen you without the drow disguise, so he could say something about the PC being even more beautiful in her natural shape)

Personality-wise, I perceive Solaufein as being somewhat split between the traditional drow values he was brought up with, and his newer, surface like values and ideas. In romance dialouge, this could be expressed as an ambivalence between a deep, long term relationship and a pure sexual, just-for-fun relationship with the PC. He could be swaying a bit from side to side in this matter. (Did you know even Anomen asks for a merely physical relationship you turn him down early in the romance? :D )

Also, I think Solaufein should be experienced with women and a very good lover. Viconia says something to a male prot about the drow art of pleasure, and that tradition should apply to Solaufein as well.

If the PC is involved in another romance when Solaufein is joining, I guess she would have to choose sooner or later. Especially Anomen or Valygar would be very upset by Solaufein hitting on the PC! Some interesting conflicts would of course arise. :D

If Viconia is in the party, something dialogue between the two drow could be added.

I will post some dialogue suggestions soon!

So, can all this with Solaufein be done with Shadow Keeper? It sounds very good to me.

@mr Sprinkler: No, it can't be done with Shadowkeeper. Manveru is working on an add onn for BG2/ToB, and he is also writing new scripts for new NPC:s and new romances :) You can go to his website and download his scripts (just look at his profile, the url is there), for instance he has made Irenicus and NPC :D

The Solaufein thing, like the Edwin and Kivan thing, is new scripts Manveru is planning to make for us. Be most welcome to add suggestions!

Romancing Solaufein and taking him into your party?! How would he be able to level up like any other NPC? Would he even have sounds of his own?
I mean, this is a real cool idea (especially for us female gamers) but is it even possible...?

It is possible; to level up all you need is a "level upable" class - the ones you get to choose at the start. Since in his creature file, he is already considered as a Fighter, he'll have no problem leveling up. He even gain special ToB abilities, I tested this by using the "CTRL+Q" code and added him to the party.
As for the sound, they'll have to be custom made. Same with dialogue, script and his portrait. And there are several other things that will need to be change as well.

It seems to be possible to make soundssets of the sounds implemented in the game. Over at Gamers Allegiance (www.gamers-allegiance.com) they've done that with Irenicus' and Bodhi's sound sets.

Do you mean they used the VO already in the game and created sound sets from it?

Umm I have a question: When and how does Irenicus join your party? Isn't he you're arch-nemesis.

Keep your friends close and your enimies closer, if only so you can give the swift kick of the but when they misbehave ;) :D

Gamers Allegiance created the soundsets from sounds already in the game. They singled out words and all to keep the voice pack original.
And no, Irenicus doesn't join your party (pity, though). They have just made the voice pack to use in BG.

Ok, I have gone through the topics from several last days (I have been on short holidays , so I haven't working much on my projects)

@CE Elegans : Yes, that is the thing that we need - some kind of psychological/personality portrait of Solufein to have any basis for his quests... as for technical issues .. Solufein's dimension door is not the problem, the same about adding dialogues for him and Phaere - I just need texts so I will be able to start real work.

The biography of Solaufein could be also useful.

Someone asked about Irenicus - download my Irenicus and put in override folder (it works probably even for ToB, but only in SoA part of game). You should meet him in Government District of Athkatla - yes , I know it is just too easy, but when I was making him I just wanted to find the easiest method to join him to the party - he is totally indepedent from real Irenicus that will not even recognise this NPC.
