I have a liter of vodka to drink later tonight.

I see this as a good Friday the 13th if the party my brother and I are planning works out. I hope Rachel doesn't bring her camera again, last time was bad.
Maybe we'll see an army of black cats while drunk and wandering through town late at night or something.

This what I found with a quick search (I can not verify anything...I just searched for 'friday the 13th' and this was the most extensive and clear answer I could find):
"According to David Emery of About.com, 13-phobia may have come from the Hindus, who apparently believed it was always unlucky for 13 people to gather in one place. A version of the same superstition also from the Vikings: Twelve gods were invited to a banquet at Valhalla. Loki, the Evil One, god of mischief, had been excluded from the guest list but crashed the party, bringing the total to 13. Loki then proceeded to incite Hod, the blind god of winter, to attack Balder the Good, who was a favorite of the gods. Hod took a spear of mistletoe offered by Loki and hurled it at Balder, killing him instantly.
Sometime after that moment in history, the superstition attached itself to the story of the Last Supper of Jesus and the 12 disciples. (Twelve plus one equals 13.) Judas, who rose first from the table, was the first to die.
On the other hand, the Egyptians at the time of the pharoahs considered 13 lucky, because they believed life unfolded in 12 stages, and that there was a 13th stage—the afterlife—beyond. That meant the number 13 symbolized death—as a happy transformation. Egyptian civilization perished, but the symbolism of the number 13 lived on as fear of death. (In Tarot decks the "Death" card bears the number 13 but retains its original, positive meaning: transformation.)
In ancient goddess-worshipping cultures 13 was also a lucky number--because it corresponded to the number of lunar (menstrual) cycles in a year (13 x 28 = 364 days). (The "Earth Mother of Laussel," a 27,000-year-old carving near the Lascaux caves in France, depicts a female figure holding a crescent-shaped horn bearing 13 notches.) Later, according to some historians, 13 got a bad name—particularly among early Christian patriarchs--because it represented femininity."

Ah, thanks for the effort, Rudar

I only heard about the superstition that whenever 13 people gathers around a table the first to leave is the first to die. bah.
Today is absolutely OK, going out in the evening, weekend is coming so why should I worry? 13th Friday is just as normal for me as any other day.
... if someone can come up with a series of explanation why Friday, the 13th has got such a reputation.
I'm at work so I can't do an extensive research on this, but in the christian/western tradition, Friday has long been associated with bad luck due to mythology that Adam and Eve were driven out of paradise at a Friday, the Flood was on a Friday, Jesus was crucified on a Friday, etc. At the same time, the number 13 has been associated with bad luck in many mythologies, among them the old Nordic Asa-belief and also in christianity because they were 13 at the last supper. (I'm sure you can dig up much more events associated with either Friday or the number 13.)
Then, at some point, probably quite late, the two were combined into the superstitition that Friday the 13th should be especially linked to bad luck. The superstition is then reinforced by the same mechanisms that reinforce all superstition and prejudice: confirmation bias, selection bias and self-fulfilling prophecy-behaviour.

What's scarier is that I decided to poke in at these forums again on Friday the 13th.
Hi all! I remember some of you. Sailor Saturn's been banned I see. *clears throat* Well, it was nice seeing the old forums up and running, Buck Satan's name ran such a hard bell I tipped like a cow. Then I saw the "updated anatomy" thread... I was like "name, age 15 and a half?? I'm almost freaking 19!"
Well all you old geezers I have to pack up my dorm and move on, but I'll be sure to casually roll in on other Friday the 13ths (and maybe some Wednesday afternoons as well)

Hello Shadow Sandrock, I do remember you and yes, it was an awfully long time ago

If you have any contact with Sailor Saturn nowadays, please send her my best regards

I lost contact with her after she has moved to a new place.

Well, feel free to IM me. Artemis Chaos is my AIM. I still have Sailor Saturn's AIM... somewhere... so I could probably try to contact the soldier of silence.

I hate Friday the thirteenth.

I know it's silly and i'm not that superstitios, but a lot of bad things have happened to my family on it, so I tend to be tense. Today has been pretty good so far so I'm a little worried to drive home, espescially since my car is making funny noises.

I'm drunk and found a type of vodka that I can drink straight and tastes like those blue icy pops you can get. So far, it's been a GREAT day. Just wish this whole party thing would kick off sooner.

I dunno, today a guy I have a crush on sucked on a piece of paper then threw it at me. I kicked him in the shins afterwards.

Does this mean he likes me?

You're in there! Provided, of course, you apologised caringly afterwards....

@giles, I um.. FORGOT.. yes.. to apologize.

Just seems very juvenile to soak something in spit and launch it a girl. I was wondering if he had a head injury or just happened to drool a lot or something. *shrugs* It would be easier to say something in my opinion.
If you don't apologize, he will be upset. I was very upset with Shannon for kicking me for years until she apologized. She made up for it though.
