I allowed NWN on my firewall when it asked, and after the Oneth problem, i turned it off :confused:

(yes Oneth is a word.)

Well - it is more whether or not the host has an "open" firewall, because a timeout indicates that the computers couldn't find each other.
Try pinging each other from the command prompt of windows/dos and see if a ping results in a reply.

Also - if WinXP Service Pack 2 is installed, the firewall in there could be enabled and block incomming traffic for the server as well.....

Well i had my wall off when i hosted, and mag tried joining but same problem, he had his wall off too.

Actually...I have two firewalls. I forgot to turn off the one from my Linksys router last night. Rum's fault, not mine. SORRY. But that just explains MY problem. :o
