Alright, I wanna contribute to this thread. I shave with a razor in the shower and special shave-gel to reduce the risk of cuts. It also moisturizes all at the same time!

EDIT: I just went and checked and my razor is Gillette, but for women! Venus. It has these little moisturizer thingies on it. Oooo...

Ditto here, about every third day, while in the shower, I lather my lower legs with a gel made from lavender and other essential oils and then apply my Venus blade. I don't like the kind with the moisturizer though.. my skin is pretty sensitive so I need to be careful what I put on it. I find Venus is great... since it also has three blades, I've never cut myself with it once .

Actually, I quite enjoy this ritual, it is pleasantly relaxing in the hot shower, and the gels I use are of the aromatherapy variety so they smell really nice

I'm somewhat interested now: Does anyone use a Straight Edge to shave?

I use a Gilette disposables for legs and underarms... as often as I can be bothered, or depending on the weather and how short a skirt I intend to wear. Recently found a great natural alternative to shaving foam - aloe vera gel. Nice smooth shave, leaves your skin soft too.

I've done three...no, wait, four...states of shaving and facial hair styling since I first recognized the need to deal with it. First, the "if-you-don't-shave-right-now-private-I-will-rip-your-head-off-in-front-of-your-mommy" shave: in other words, once a day, very early in the morning. Second, biker Santa Claus , though every once in a while I would control the beard with scissors. Third, le trimmed moustache but otherwise clean shaven, though since my 'stache is full and thick, I eventually got tired of that after a few years. Nowdays, I shave the whiskers off when my finacee complains about how scratchy it is...twice a week at the most.

Hey - I remember those from my army days

I need to shave everyday i dont. I shave like once a week. But i need to change that.

And my shaving habits? A mach 3 straight on the skin. No foam, no soap no water. Straight through. I am usually in a hurry when i shave that is why.

Foam is for wimps. All i need now is a sharp knife

I have a Straight Edge razor and i used to shave with it but coming to Canada you can buy disposable baldes cheaply enough, but the Straight Edged one allows you to control how much you take on or off ( of both your face and your hair mind you ) if you want a close shave thats the razor to use, but i find it dosent make such a big differance and the disposables are usualy just as good.

Belive me when you start to shave you wish you didnt have to, seems interesting enough at first but at times it really makes me wish i could look half decently with a beard or a mustache so i didnt have to shave as much.

Its also a big waste of time if you dont want to do a bad job of it, and its sometimes bad if your in a hurry to get somewhere and need to shave.

Me, I use a Norelco electric razor, which takes off pretty much everything (except for some practically unnoticable bits in a scant few places). Still, since my face is about as smooth as asphalt, I'm considering using a buffing wheel for a power sander instead.

Me, I use a diving knife honed to razor sharpness to shave with. I do it out back in the woods in sub-freezing temperatures with no shirt on, using the chrome fender of a 1957 Chevrolet as a mirror. When I'm done, I break the ice on a nearby stream and freshen up with the frigid water.

Most of the time, though, I enjoy the comfort of the bathroom in my climate-controlled apartment as I shave. I use shaving gel, a Mach 3 razor, the vanity mirror, and follow it up with some good skin conditioner and cologne.

2) You've got to be joking...
If I tried that, I'd be in the hospital for accidentally slashing my neck.

3) Yeah, my younger brother uses shave gel and a Mach 3 as well. However, looking at the short beard (as well as the fact that he's about 2 inches taller and brawnier than I am), you'd think he's the older of us 2.

Oh, and I was wrong about the "skin like asphalt" presumption I made of my face. It's more like compact soil.

ROTFL! But you left out the part about brushing your teeth with a rabid wolverine.

I shave in odd increments. I used to wear a goatee, til I decided it made me look demented. Now I alternate between a beard and clean shaven. At the moment, I try and stay clean shaven.

Just use shaving creme and a throw away razor. I abhor aftershave

I shave everyday without fail i can't stand body hair so i shave my legs and underarms till silky smooth I also use a venus but i have no clue if its moisture or not i really could care less i just get a razor and go though i do demand shaving gel thats for sensitive skin and mostly i use one of my dads brands like the gillete or the ralf lauran i prefer the musk sent in the morning makes me wake up really well

My husband shaves MAYBE twice a week, and that is FINE BY ME. Stubble is so sexy on a man.

As for me, my hair grows in very lightly, so I only really need to shave as often as my guy. I use a venus razor and Herbal Essences shampoo, cause I like it's foam. Then, while I'm still in the shower, I rub baby oil into my legs and go over them once again really quick. Just to be thorough.

I had to do a bit of razor research over the years. I settled on the three-blade gillette razor because it's possible to use that sucker over and over as long as you rinse it out thoroughly every time. I'm cheap I've tried throwaway razors, and usually emerge from the experience looking like Jason of Friday the 13th fame attacked my neck.

Most of you guys make it sound like it's sissified to baby your face. It's only sissified if you use Oil of Olay as an aftershave.

Chanak well nobody ever accused you of being a man I personally use a porcupine to brush my teeth. The spikes really get the teeth clean

And my face can be described as sandpaper.

Just shaved the other day, otherwise I try to shave as often as possible... Tried having a full beard once, I kinda looked like Robinson Crusoe, wasn't pretty
