I'm glad you're feeling better. :)

You know...I have a really big flamethrower. I'm sure Ysh and I could turn whoever hurt you into an overcooked microwave dinner. :D

Or...perhaps this individual needs a good, solid spanking. :D

If he were an SYMian, he'd probably enjoy it... However, this guy is very straight-forward, so I think it would be a real punishment. :D ;)

Thanks, Chanak. :)

*Hugs* @Aqua-chan.

I generally try to discourage competent people from teaching as I think the idea of government schools is seriously flawed. But if you really are committed to teaching, then Kameleon is right -- you can make a difference in people's lives. Hang in there!

 You know, I shot myself last week with one of those Stanley staple guns...you know, the big ones you build houses with. Ooooooo...it really hurt. Fortunately, my hand was far enough away so the staple deflected off of the bone on my left hand...instead of sinking right in.

It hurt pretty good. Image

Yeah, you probably ought to calm down. ;)

Hello, AC. Glad you are feeling better. Seems like everything is shaping up alright. And thats good. But if you still want a hug, Im here. You know this has been an emotional 3 days for me, so I dont know how much energy I can muster, but believe me, if you needed my support, Id be there.

Teaching is a tough job, and you dont need to tell me, that. Sometimes I try to devote time after classes to talk to teachers, maybe talking about stuff not even related to class, just simple things, cause I know how hard it can be. Just know that youre doing the kids a favor, and it can sometimes be a thankless job. That should make you feel stronger, that youre doing something good that doesnt have the proper rewards that should be issued. I can go further, but I think you get the point.

Thanks, BS. :) However, I'm trying to keep as few people involved in the flaming thing as possible... Though I do appreciate the offer, it's my problem to take care of.(And Ysh's, too, if I let her know it gets out of hand... She knows who the troublemaker is, so don't worry about vengeance. :D )

...It's more of teaching in such a chaotic world that gets to me. :o

All you need to involve is one capable person, and I am eminently qualified. ;) But, as you wish.*hug*

You're braver than I am to be teaching....I don't think I could take it myself. :D

I'd think the best place to teach is University. All you have to do is write some stuff on the board and leave :D

In the world of teaching, there are no "thank you"s or "I aprreciate it"s. When I get home after seven hours of "DO we have to do ALL of this?"s and "Can't we just use our damn calculators?", or numerous name-calling a swearing in the halls, I come back to a house where nobody wants to talk to me because of a stupid game that my roomie and I had a fight over, my mom is too busy to stay on the phone, the kids... Pshaw! And the dog isn't necessarily the type for open conversation... Now, I've recieved a flame over my beloved gamebanshee!

I need a hug! :( :o

I need attention!

...*ONE HUMONGOUS HUG!* Image

...tell me about it, brethren of the teaching faith.

I understand exactly how you feel right now. I've been teaching for the past 7 years and this I can tell you...

... most of my kids tend to appreciate what I've done AFTER they left school and cease being my student. Of course, there are others too who show appreciation right there and then.

I would like to think that just like you, I chose this profession because of the sheer joy it brings --- with all the exam-checking, bratty kids and other "perks" that go along with it... Image

...and like you I don't do this just so that I would feel appreciated. ;)

I could give you a lot of anecdotes that are so heartwarming, I can't help at times but shed a tear of joy just remembering what my former students told or did for me.

Keep the Faith, sister. You are not alone. Image

As for the Anomen issue... "...sticks and stones, baby, sticks and stones..."

...now tell me who... Image

@AC: *hug* Duffman says: I'm glad that you're feeling better :) . My parents are both teachers and it's pretty much the same for them as Mah says ;) , but they wouldn't give up their job for the world - keep it up, you're making a difference for these students, even if they don't always realize it :) .

Beldin, that looks more than a hug ;)

@Mrs Chan ;) My mum was a teacher in Slough (horrible **** hole of a place) for 3 years, teaching Geography and she hated it. In fact she loathes even the name Slough, it was during the heady seventies, several years before my conception.

The kids were awful and they treated her like dirt and my mum is such a sensitive soul she can't handle that kind of thing and her fellow teachers weren't much better, all chain smoking stressed and on as many pills as they could find.

I wish I had some uplifting words to say about, well, anything, but at least I can relate in some small part. It was a learning experience at least.
