I can see where you're coming from Fable, but do computer games really mean that much to you?
As for calling her 'the missus', I only do that behind her back. When we are together I just call her 'woman'.
Sounds like noone has fantastic things to say about either Nwn or Morrowind... *tootles off to florists, whistling*

Maybe so, but why refer to your girlfriend as "the missus?"
I think it's a British thing

Now, that's interesting. I posted:

...and @Frogus, quoted me, thus:

Makes you wonder if he's missing out on something.

@Frogus! Fourteen is not to young to start your path dowanrds to dissipation! Look at the rest of humanity, and learn!

Ok, I'm finally here...
NWN. Not much can be said about NWN that I haven't already said (in both the NWN forums, and Morrowind forums). To sum it up, Bioware promised a Swan Dive. NWN was simply a Dive. It had nothing that really caught my eye, or stand out in any such way. The graphics were quite archaic for what is capable, even while they boast the 3D spell effects, it really means squat, because it only makes for a semi-impressive lightshow. The gameplay, well, It's a 3D version of IWD for the most part. It boasted nothing spectactular to the game (I even found the story quite bland), and the fact that your Henchman is dumber then Regis is a massive let down. The muliplay aspect of it is nothing new either (White Wolf did it two years ago with Vampire: the Masquerade Redemption, and they did it far better). In my few experiances online I encountered nothing but power gamers, which, ironically, is where White Wolf also failed. There was no true RP element online, as so many people have boasted. It is merely an FPS, with swords and shields rather then guns.
Morrowind. First off, you should check out the review of it out
here . Thats my thorough reveiw of the game. On a quick note, though. The story is better, and fits the game more, even if have some cliched elements. The sound, well, it is a bit lackluster, but impressive no the less. The ambient sound and music tie in nicely to a game, and it was actually music that I kept on, which is odd, as I usually turn my music off, and just leave the sound. Graphics. Well, Bethesda did them right. It is an example of what could've been down with the (outdated) Aurora engine. While there isn't any impressive light shows, I feel they did a better job with the simple, smaller magic effects, which out (gasp!) not 3D!
Anyway, I don't feel like writing anymore. Take your pick of the games.
One final note, though. I never in my life returned a game before 3 days after purchasing it. NWN has caused me to do that. For the cost of the game, and sheer horredness of it, I felt it just wasn't worth it.

*sigh*... I had a boyfriend back in Jr High, all three years.
He called me "girl, and I called him "Cheddar" (his name was Chad).
However, nobody in Jr high ever called thier girlfriends "missus" in Missouri in fear that thier girlfriend would beat the daylights out of 'em.

You know, while waiting for the Imoen Mod by Quitch

o), I decided to purchase Warcraft III (I loved Starcraft!).
So far I'm a bit deluded, it's impressive to the look but the rest is
quite boring.
Icewind Dale 2 won't get my money, I played the first...
Neverwinter Nights doesn't attract me, Morrorwind.... well I won't do the same mistake I did with Daggerfall!!!!
AGES and AGES of pointless wandering... no thanx!
I fear we won't ever witness another BG2!!!
P.S.: what does "missus" mean exactly?

@Aegis, great review, but you had better take that link down - It gives the follower access into all the subscription areas of the site AFAICT.

*instantly regrets what he just said*
@Littiz 'missus' is the word from which the abbreviation 'Mrs.' is derived. 'The missus' is a phrase used by some of Britains' 'less culturally aware'...it's slightly derogatory and rather old-fashioned...
Anyway, after the great things that Aegis has said about it Morrowind is seeming more and more tempting...Decisions decisions....

Good plan that man
I will say one thing though, Morrowind is huge and is very long if you decide to do random quests you could be on the game for the next 10 years

It can be fun as well...but i say the lady comes first

Buy Morrowind
Buy NWN
Buy something for your 'woman'
Return two out of three (not the woman, though).
I'm enjoying W3 as well. Not as diverse as W2 but still fun. Really suffers from no naval units.
Morrowind is very good but it didn't hold my interest.
NWN - fantastic. Single player campaign is fun, above average, but takes on a whole new meaning when done with friends. We're role playing about as well as can be done on a CRPG. If you've got a group to play with and everyone is on the same page, it can be a worthwhile experience. Plus it is fun dabbling with the toolset and creating modules, not to mention I've taught myself quite a bit of C programming this summer for what it is worth.

@Gwalchmai - Got bored of the other avatar, eh?
NWN or Morrowind? I have played both, and am still playing one. Sleepy's comments on the downside of Morrowind are mine exactly, and why I stopped playing it. One can only kill so many Cliff Racers before one begins to become irritated. I spent hours wandering the island going after this or that, and I eventually tired of it.
NWN is fantastic. It has oddles of potential, and currently I'm working on building a world for one of the NWN servers. The single player is fine, but the real strength of the game lies in multi-player, and the awesome concept of having a human DM in control of the game. This game is really only getting off the ground, and there are neater things in store for it in the very near future. This is why I like NWN so much.
However, I would recommend, at this time, doing something for the "missus." You can always buy NWN later, but she might not stick around forever.

I would recommend #3, get your significant other sometihing nice. How nice Morrowind and NWN may be, they're only games and last perhaps a month or so, love lasts (if you're serious 'bout it) much much longer and is well let's face it ... more important than games.

Frogus, if you are on a spending spree and have these 3 choices, my advice is: put your money on doing some fun together with "mrs" Frogus, or perhaps buy her a nice gift.
I haven't played Morrowind (the hubby does, and he is not very impressed), but I am currently playing NWN and unfortunately I can't recommend it, not yet. I think you should wait until Bioware has released a patch that fixes some of the nastier bugs, and until high class user made modules are around. From what I've heard, a majority of the mods around at this early stage are typical powergamer mods.
IMO, NWN is not worth buying for the single playing campaign. To be honest, I find the storyline boring and uninspiring. If I hadn't been ill for a while, I probably wouldn't even have taken the time to play it.

Everyone keeps saying that the human DM client is such an awe inspiring thing, but I wonder how many people have played Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption online? It has the exact same thing (With more impressive graphics, and game play, and an easier DM client interface). Sure, the feature is great now, but heed my words. Within a couple months, the online aspect of NWN will be no more than power gaming players, and the RP aspect will be gone from all but the most devoted fans.
One last thing to add about Morrowind. The game is very large, and complex. If you prefer to get right into the story right away, or you prefer a more "hack and slash" approach, it might not be the game for you.
For WC3, well, I am impressed by the game. Though it seems to be missing some pixels, I think it gives it a more of a fantasy image. Some gripes about it, though, involve the high unit costs, and the fact that multiplayer battles tend to be decided after the initial rush, more or less. I think they did a great job, though, with the race balances. I like the fact that Orcs know actually get a bit of an attack bonus because their strength, and such. The stroy also holds true with being a great one (slow at first, but picks up greatly after a few missions). If Buck hadn't said no to placing a review on the site, you'd be able to get a thorough review of the game. I think it's definatly one worth picking up, especially if your a fan of RTS, and Blizzard games.

I don't think this will be the case in Argyle.
There will mostly be real RP'ers there... hopefully.
