We'll definitely have to get the two of you together, and watch you vomit in tandem. I'm sure it will be worth the plane fare.
I also got a touch of the same dysentery in Budapest, on our recent 3 week visit, there: bad fish in a very good restaurant. I should have known better than to order ocean-based fish in a land-locked nation. We didn't wait that long, however. After 2 days (my wife still wanted to wait, saying it would clear up; RNs are so damned positive that way), we hit a clinic, and the doctor we saw gave us a medicine, based on my description of the symptoms, which was identical to what I'd received years ago in Caracas. We all knew that waiting around for a sample analysis wasn't going to be necessary. His cooperation was very appreciated.

Sounds good.

Alternatively, there's a great Indian restaurant on Andrassy Ut in Budapest, about two blocks down from the Opera House. They've got a fine masala.

I haven't been to Budapest since my teens, so it might be a good idea

I have never become ill from Indian food though, although I have it fairly often here in Stockholm and while travelling. In India though, everybody I know who has been there, has been through involuntary slimming procedures. One of my friends were actually quite happy he lost 10 pounds on his holiday in India
I wonder what toilets in India are like?

This is not a question I'd prefer to personally discover the answer to, for precisely the reason you mention, above.

Galbraith, the economics professor who has been William Buckley's bete-noir, wrote a book about his experiences as ambassador to India during the Kennedy administration. Aside from the quirks of class and personality that he displays, the most significant aspect of that work are the number of times he and people around him acquired various intestinal problems.
Speaking of losing weight the hard way, my father-in-law (who was obese) had his gall bladder out about a year ago, and has stuck rather doggedly (he does everything with great stuborrness; it runs in the family) to a diet plan since. As a result, he's lost probably 100 pounds, and now looks rather fit. Perhaps I should market this method as Dr. Fable's Gall Bladder Treatment for Weight Loss. What do you think?

Sign me up @fable.

I could/should loose some weight...
No worries, there'll still be enough of me left afterwards

Go for it! At least it is going to work, as opposed to the other million weight loss programs around. The Indian Diet has one advantage though, and that is the combination of a great holiday at an exotic place, and weight loss as a beneficial side effect

We will have to make my Miracle Gall Bladder Removal Diet available only in Tierra del Fuego, then.

It's going to be a hit!

In fact, I've always wanted to see Tierra del Fuego, but I don't need to loose weight, so I am going to apply to the position as assistant dietist and cheer leader.
