Well, I did suggest having Connery as M (and unofficially having him be the original 007). That way there'd be continuity and masculinity still in the series. Oh well. Some folks like the idea, some folks don't. To each his own.

Although it would make the movie a comedy sequal, I think it would be great to have Connery as M or, even better, the new arch-nemesis.

About Connery- He is from Edinburgh, not Glasgow.
His birth name was pronounced seen, but, his friends name was O'Banion, and apparantley there was an actor or someone famous by the name Shawn O'Banion, so to annoy the two friends, kids used to call them Shawn O'Banion- and eventually he decided to stick with the pronounciation. At least according to him, in an interview with the Israeli Equivlent of 'Entertainment Weekly'.

Anyway, He is one of my favorite actors, along with Kevin Spacy (Ever since 6 years ago, when I saw 'The Usual Suspects', one of my favorite movies), Larry Hagman (Just because of J.R., who IMO is the best TV character ever) and Anthony Hopkins (Ever since 'Elephant Man', and then 'Silence of the Lambs' concreted his position).

The great thing about him is, his career was jump started by being a young 'Super' Hero, (Bond, not Tarzan ) and for a long time, that was all he was- untill, he wisened up and realized that he wasn't 30 any more, and agreed to become the father figure/ Mentor, not the hero of the movie- like the horrible fake Bond 'Never Say never again'.
Once he acted older men, he became respected, and now is known as the model for older actors- his name is synonymous with good, popular older actors.
He got immidiate payoff from that carrer move- in 1987 he won the best supporting actor oscar for 'The Untouchables'.
Then he made 'Family Buissness' which was really bad- but then, in my favorite part (Better than Bond!) he took the job as Henry Jones in 'Indiana Jones and the last crusade'- in which he portrayed his intelligence, comedic side, wise side and his age very gracefully. Its One of my favorite movies.

Lately, I did't really like his choises- 'Entrapment' was OK the first couple of times, annoying after that. 'The Avengers'- was really bad, Especialy with Uma Thurman- who I absolutely hate , and I think is so unatractive to have stopped seeing movies the second she came on- I have had 'Pulp Fiction' for ever- never seen it. (Although I know I'll have to bite the bullet and see that one)
Back on track- 'Playing by the Heart'- I have yet to see, but it doesn't seem like my kind of movie. 'Finding Forester'- same deal.

I really want to see his next movie- 'Club of extraordinary Gentelmen' based on the comic book, coming out next year.

Strange. Sean is actually Connery's middle name. His real first name is Thomas and in one interview he said his nickname was Big Tom growing up (and he change it when he started acting). Which doesn't necessarily contradict the whole Shawn O’Bunion thing, but it does seem odd. Oh well.

Connery and then Roger Moore.
Don't like brosnan, you sentimental as people have said.
Takes the chauvinism out and injects a sort of feminine side, which bond should not have.
The old movies showed him to be a guy who would shag any girl.
He wouldn't be the type of character to disucss sentiments.
Its a shag and off he goes.
But connery was the best ever.
Out of the latest movies, the brosnan ones haven't been all that good.
They lack good plots and esp. villians.
The villians truly suck.
Not of the calibre of goldfinger or Dr. No, or the character from Moon Racker (or something like that).

Its MoonRaper nope, sorry thats from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back . Its MoonRaker- and the bad guy is Drax. I actualy thought that that movie wasn't very good.

IMO Jonathan Price did a pretty good job as Elliot Carver in 'Tommorow never Dies'-
"Tell the president that if he doesn't ceapen the price- we'll release the tape of him with the cheerleader. Then anyway release the tape." (Or something to that effect)

They may be evil, but they don't seem as the arch evil type. Carver was a media guru who wanted to start a war, that was a very lame plot in my eyes.
The older movies, had better plots, more twists and more character development.
By the end of the movie you really loathed the evil boss.
With the present one, it is quick and a simple.
Atleast that is how i see it.

Just to have a different oppinion here, I think that Lazenby was the best Bond. But then I would as I am a good, patriotic Australian.

A more interesting question is - Who was the best Bond girl?

The evil one who played opposite Robert Carlysle(sp?) in Tomorrow Never Dies or whatever it was called. It's been a while since I saw it, so I'm not sure about the name.

I thought it had a good story- but I didn't like all the over-acting in the fight scenes. Lazenby was kicking and punching too energeticaly to make the fights plausible.
Plus I think they made Blofeld too active. For a man who in the first Bonds was seen only sitting in a chair petting a white cat and ocasionaly pushing buttons- skiing and personaly shooting at Bond (Killing his wife) seems like too much activity.

I always thought that the way they killed Blofeld was stupid and moronic.
If you didn't see it- At the start of all the Bond films there is a 5 minute or so intro before the credits. In 'For your eyes only' it started with Bond at a grave yard, visiting his wifes grave. He then gets into a helicopter which Blofeld is controling by remot control from the top of a building. Some how Bond gets cotrol of the helicopter and goes after Blofeld. He catches him and with the helicopter, throws Blofeld in his wheelchair into a big
chimney.
They killed the Fabled Archnemesis in 3 minutes, just to get a good intro. I'll always be angry at Soltzman and Broccoli (The Producers)for that.

I agree about the fight scenes

I do think that the Bond bad guys were always kind of under-active considering so much was on the line, killing Bond's wife makes sense in an evil kind of way, i like the idea of there being more of an emotional edge to Bond than just his Poker and Women
