Hannibal Lector definately, in both movies.
He was only a villian if he didn't like you. Duh. He LIKED clarice.

Best line ever.
"Bowels in or bowels out? Too late"

Ok, maybe not.

If anyone EVER, mentions Flesh Gordan, I swear I will track you down and kill you... well, beat you :D

Trevylan (sp) from Goldeneye rocked, so did that evil media master from Tomorrow Never dies.
Bond "Do you expect me to talk"
Evil Guy "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"

Thats a classic!

And the guy SS mentioned from Gundam wing Endless waltz, that is an awesome movie! I seriously tell all of you to catch it. Even if you arent into Anime.

Oh ya, speaking of anime

VEGETA!!! So arrogant. So evil, so damn cool!

I think Christopher Lee in LOTR deserves a mention. "Your fondness for the halflings' weed has dulled your senses."

Slightly off-topic, but this is a question well worth the asking. Who thinks the Puppet Master was the "villain" in Ghost in the Shell?

Just to clear things up. Mariemaia is an 8-year-old girl. ;)

Great movie, though.

Who do ya'll think was the villian in Princess Mononoke?

I always laughed high and mighty at Wesly Snipes in Demolishen Man - good acting of a psycopathic killer :D

Aslo a favorite villian of mine Pennywise from the movie IT - he was fun.

@frogger : That's a good one ! I love Al Pacino Movies (remember Scarface ?) besides Robert deNiro Movies.

Anyway who's the villain on Cape Fear ? I forgot about it since it's been a long time I watched the movie :)

That's a classic, unfortunately it was Goldfinger who said that, not the lame-ass media mogul from TMD :p

@KidD the original or the remake Cape Fear? I'm going to assume you mean the original, because Robert Mitchum was far more creepy than De Niro in the remake... Still, I think Mitchum was even more evil-like as the Preacher in Night of the Hunter

@Xan good call on Pennywise :D

@BS Walken was great in The Prophecy, not quite as scary as the fact that Viggo Mortensen turned up playing Satan though  :D

Here is a villian, just that came out of nowhere.

The guy who played Nosferatu. Not that 70's remake. The original

I was gonna say that, but I haven't actually seen it, so... ;) (And Max Schreck, BTW. Even better if you believe the Shadow of a Vampire theory that he was a real vampire :D )

Usually I wouldn't get scared by a silent movie, as the acting is usually just...crap. However that one, and I saw Shadow previously really made me feel uncomfortable. :o

Christopher Plumber as General Chang in Star Trek 6. He was a nice twist on evil villians. He showed a mix of class, and ruthlessness in the whole game of cat and mouse with the final encounter with the Enterprise, and his qouting of shakespere was a nice touch.

Tom Cruise as Lestat in Interveiw with the Vampire.

Sean Bean as Trevalyn in Goldeneye was good too.

Lastly, Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Batman.

OMG, noooo! I can't think of a less scary evil and more just ridiculous villain :p :D

@Tammy I intend to see it at some point, as with so much... but isn't it the 70s remake that is supposed to be the best vampire movie ever...?

Its all based on opinion really. I'm a sucker for originals, and the 70's version of the vampyre :D is just too human for my liking. Plus watching the black and white one extremely late at night, is quite a strange experience. ;)

How could I have forgotten him? :o
His face was just so perfect for it- the first time it seemed to me like the smile was real!

Also Jack in A few good men:
Cruise:"Colonel Gessop, Did you order the code red?"
Nicholson:"I did what I shoud...."
Cruise:"Did you order the code red?!"
Nicholson:"You're god damn right I did!"

To quote the other would have been unneccesary- who ever knows the least bit about movies knows the other line.
I'm assuming he is also great in The Shining- I've just rented it for the first time so I'll see it sometime today.

On the subject(in a way)- I got the original Ocean's Eleven, and in it I always thought that the guy who plays Duke Santos, had a great evil smile- so I looked in imdb, and what did I find? The it was Cesar Romero! Who, if you know nothing about TV history, played The Joker in the original Batman!

Another worthy mention goes to Jeremy Irons in DnD.... just kidding, But realy- Jeremy Irons in Die Hard III- he was great in it:

"How Colourfull"
"Holy Toledo, somebody had fun!"
"They bought it. You may begin"
"I didn't say 'Simon Says'"
"On my way to Saint Ives I met a man with seven wives, every wife had seven sacks, every sack had seven cats, every cat had seven kitten. Kittens, cats, sacks, and wives, how many went to saint Ives?"

(I Edited the last quote, since I remembered a bit more accuretly)

Best might not be the word, but I think Dustin Hoffman in Hook deserves a mention.

And so does Boba- Fet in the Star Wars.
About Star Wars- one of the first posts here said Darth Vader isn't realy evil- that my be true now, but if you missed the last 15 minutes of Jedi, would you still say that?
I mean in Empire he was evil, but not just evil- BTW I think the Imperial march made Vader a super villain, as upposed to just another bad guy, and The tune made it clear that right now, you've got the most evil being in the universe in front of you.
