what does maudlin mean? Anyway, they're abit wierd, and have tendencies towards 15th Century Retro...you know...they're Welsh and live in the mountains and everyone turns out a bit wierd when you do that kind of thing...anyway, Poodle Rockin' is undoubtedly their finest hour (sample lyric - 'When oxygen runs out you know we just wont care, we'll be like "throw that stick one more time over there"'...ooh it's a classic...anyway if you only likee loud music then go elsewhere, if you like Gregorian chant and 'experimental' whimsy and all that then Gorky's are for you...they are a good suplement to a heavier record collection, but if all you listen to is Travis etc then buy something worse...I had never heard of them until I did a google search on the line you asked about. I listened to a couple of their clips and they have an interesting sound, but it seems a little maudlin to me. Do you have an recommendations as to an album or song set I should listen to that you consider their best?
