X-rated commercials? It sounds inevitable, but I don't think it will come to that. According to an art director friend of mine here is DC, the execs recognize the difference between good and bad advertising, and very rarely does a commercial that resorts to using sex, explicit or implied, to sell a product go on to win the admiration of other firms, or any one of the perennial awards that those in the industry base their careers and portfolios on, since it betrays such an obvious lack of creativity.

My opinion on the worst adverts is probably tampon's and women's sanitary products, don't get me wrong...

'Can I have a biscuit Jo?'
'Yeah'
'Can I make a sandwhich'
'Yeah'
'What about one of these sweets?'
'Sweets?'

New BrandName Tampons are so small, and so discrete, you won't know it's a tampon...even when you eat it!

and sleep I think you've got a major feminist uprising on your hands...who says Wood Stain's for men? What you really wanna be thinking about is the clean shaven, half-naked blokes on ads for gilette etc...every bit as disgusting as adds for leg waxing etc...

Ah, bane of my life...and the dubbing is really terrible too, almost as bad as that one with the cartoon chipmunk, for Colgate I think it is.

first of all, the advertisments on TV are called commericials, say it with me, commercials, secondly, the ones in newspapers, magazines, even sometimes on TV can be abreviated to "ads" not "adverts"

Actually, they're called by a host of names, none of them repeatable in this forum. "Tools for brainwashing" is about as close as anyone could come, I suppose.

Question: What authority dost thou have about abbreviating when thou can't even spell abbreviate right? :p :D

Which one? Was it Thorin? Are you sure it wasn't one of the demi-gods? What makes you think this god has more authority than the Goddess of Death and Rebirth? ;) :p :D
