Ahhhm, I don't have the feeling UU was actually referring to a paladin PC just because he uses the holy avenger to initiate bloodshed. This reminds me of my old halforc C/T who also ...

sorry nippy, I consider holy avenger just too good a sword-magic staff weapon for goody goody paladins, so my kensai sorc has that , I have used it with poison ability to take down the silver dragon...
boy, holy avenger is really good for a good blood lust massacre...it leaves limbs everywhere!!!
boy, was keldorn pissed whne I dropped by the order to show him my new letter opener!!kept muttering about desecration, got annoying so I chopped him up...
get holy avenger, with fighter mage or kensai sorc , have them equip it, then unequipp ring of gax, robe of vecna and amulet of power and reequipp. 75% magic resist!!! even higher after lums machine and hell...

Crush and destroy him utterly I say.....
A big THUMBS DOWN for the crook "Saemon" .
Change him into a squirrel , transform into a troll and STEP on him 'til he looks like an opossum after being run over by a M-60 tank....
Still - NO worries !
I'll get him again and again and again....

i usually have immie, who likes the darned spell, for some reason, you kinda have to think, hmmm...any mage who likes this spell, essentially a torture spell, has got some serious problems...
i cast multiple contagion on saemon, giving him seeping absecesses...ick.

now dont get me started, as founding member of the aerie fan club, I might have to cast the dreaded noober curse on you....you must take noober with you using cntrl q to make him join your party.
search on my very long and quite heated discussions about aerie as a power gaming char. I think I won many of them, but essentially as one of the major "me sorc, always" on the board, I specialize in magical solutions and aerie is the best mage around.
I evne like her whining...

... and aerie is the best mage around
I'm not sure if a certain person in red robes shares that point of view.
On the other hand, I'm a card carrying member of the "who needs a mage anyway if you have two fighters and a cleric to bring 'em back sometimes" faction.

Agreed, cleric/mages are very powerful and great fun to play with all those fantastic spell combinations...
... but it
is a lovely image: Aerie, wings restored somehow, soaring through and above the clouds, her long flaxen hair shimmering in the sunlight as she feels for perhaps the first time in her life truly happy when suddenly....
**THWUP**
...she goes straight into the intake of engine 3 of BA flight 104 to NewYork. Feathers and flaxen hair scattered to the four winds.

(PS; Would she even have feathers? Maybe she'd have fleshy bat wings...ew!)

ahem, ahem, as president of the aerie fan club it is my duty to censure you, kopywrite, about that very funny...ahem, ahem, very disturbing image...
hee hee....

The image is somewhat reminiscent of The far Side, isn't it?

@Nippy, so I am not the only one who like Saemon, i think he is hilarious, his consistent betrayals are part of the fun
Ahhh poor Noober, i take it everyone knows how to get him killed without resorting to losing reputation?

LOL Good one Sleepy.
What's a rep or two between enemies?
Seriously, methinks n00b, Habib and Saemon were put in for comic relief
I killed them all. And relish it.
@User
Staff of the Magi, Improved Inviso, Time stop with squirrel transformation tricks all work perfectly. Happy killing!
Seeing the friends we have posting here gives me hope; evil lives!

I'm staying out of the Aerie discussion ( I like here but would perfer Nalia and Virconia as my Mage/Cleric, the two of them are just so cool) And everything blows up!! My question is does Seamon have any equipment you can take when you kill him?

Not much on him at all; I took a few coins and a short sword as far as I can recall, don't know if the items on him are random.

Kill Saemon? Why? Are you nut? He is the best character in entire BG series!!!
Speaking of Noober, I still remember meeting him for the first time in BG1. I said screw rep, and screw everything. I can't take this anymore!!! I'm killing that moron!! Then he quit and gave me exp. Was it 400? Anyway, seems like Black Isle people knew exactly how far they could push.

Killed saemon in ship, and remember he is scripted so you should get a chance to kill him again in tob...
again, again and again...
i like theguy too, fallen, but I have a simple policy, screw with me and die!!!!!die!!!!!die!!!!!
got lucky, managed to get deathbringer stun effect with holy avenger, you have to disrupt his spell casting or the rotten bugger gets away via dimention door...
funny thing is, when talking to aran later, aran expressed reget when I told him he was pushing up daiseys. probably get a new scripted liek in tob, like...
"thought I killed you, scum!!!"
must try again...

What's there to like about a two-timing, double crossing traitor?
Killed him at the first opportunity in SoA and ToB.

umm... I don't think this has been mentioned yet, sorry if it has..

But if you really want to kill Saemon in the cave before you get to Balthazar, you can also opt to storm the gates. You'd get assaulted by an army of monks and an army of mercenaries (I sent in one or two tanks with lowest possible ac and cast spells from a distance), but you really only need to kill the captain to get the gate key - a TON of XP, I level at least once this way. I've actually never took Saemon with me, so I don't know how much XP that is. I also prefer killing Saemon any chance I can get (pause trick, both ship and cave).
I don't think anyone's tried killing him the first time you meet him in ToB .. Not sure it's possible (I *really* wanted to right there). 18K is still pretty good exp just to kill him.
