Because you have shown yourself ealier to be a sensible person.
Jugdment and sences don't just dissapere.
I've tried as mad to figure out like mad what caused this shift in your personality - and I have 2 case scenarios.
But IMO the solution is the same - just think about the way you act/want to act before you do it. I very seldom have a convesation without thinking it through several times (except with 2-3 people wich I consider to be friends) - this may seem tedious but this has helped me not to alienate the rest of the people I know.
If I ever spoke my mind to some people...

Day 43: It seems as though Brink is getting suspicious of his own actions. I may have to stop the thought transmografier for a couple of days. This will undoubtedly put my plans back a week or two. Blast!
