The Holy Grail blows Life of Brian out of the water....though I do remember laughing for hours at that strange alien encounter.
I would say the meaning of life from a mixed secular/religious viewpoint is to develop and nurture one's soul. This can be done many ways, including through religion, or just growth and experience that brings maturity and wisdom.

yes but can you 'be' and still not 'exist'? what if you 'exist' but do not 'know', and thus you can not 'be'.

IIRC what the country song says, "The meaning of life is nothing at all."

I was a raised to be a Christian myself, and IIRC according to the words of Jesus Christ the meaning of life is:
Too love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And too love others like you love yourself.

Those are the two Commandments given to us by Jesus.
The meaning of life varies from person to person, but I believe that the basis of the meaning of life for everyone remains the same.
To live a good and righteous life, but to have fun doing so and to have no regrets.
