"Ahem"

... back to the original topic. On a more serious note here, the meaning (or purpose)of life according to the Judeo-Christian tradition is to, "Fear God and obey his commandments. This is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:42 IIRC

The Holy Grail blows Life of Brian out of the water....though I do remember laughing for hours at that strange alien encounter.

:D

I would say the meaning of life from a mixed secular/religious viewpoint is to develop and nurture one's soul. This can be done many ways, including through religion, or just growth and experience that brings maturity and wisdom.

But, they cannot *be* until they *know*. In *knowing* comes *being*, and thus *existing*... :D

Although unintentional i actualy agree with you here, the meaning of life is life it self.

IIRC what the country song says, "The meaning of life is nothing at all."

BTW, does anyone know the name of this song and who sings it? I've been trying to find the song, but have been unsuccessfull. :(

The time between birth and death. Life itself has no meaning. What we do with the time that is our life might. But in todays society that's a big maybe.

Either that or Baileys. :D

@EMINEM
I was a raised to be a Christian myself, and IIRC according to the words of Jesus Christ the meaning of life is:

Too love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And too love others like you love yourself.

Those are the two Commandments given to us by Jesus.

The meaning of life varies from person to person, but I believe that the basis of the meaning of life for everyone remains the same. To live a good and righteous life, but to have fun doing so and to have no regrets.
