"You don't understand... I've tried, lord knows, but it doesn't matter what I tell myself. I can't just stop loving him. Now you tell me a better way to forget him."

"I know one thing, drinking will not help. Because when you wake up, he's right there. I know you don't trust me much, But....I'd like to help you out. There have been some things, people said I did. Most of them are not true. I want you to trust me."

Gigi sighed. "I don't think I have much trust left in me..." She smiled, sadly. "But he wasn't there, when I woke up. You were."

"Nope you passed out in the saloon, after trashing the place. Kramor, picked you up, tossed you in here and left. I came by to make sure you were ok."

Kramor went ot check on Loner, she had fallen asleep in the tub. He tried to wake her, but she was out. Kramor gently picked her up and dried her off, and put her into bed. He kissed her on the forehead, and walked out to the barn.
"Loner, do better?"
"Yea Blue, I think she is. She was wiped out from the ride. Lets go take a look at the new colt that was born."

"Thank you... but... you really didn't do all those things I've heard? He... Kramor, he told me you were a cold-blooded killer. I'm not sure what to believe anymore."

"It was a cover, I was a captian in the army. We were looking for someone, but he disappeared without a trace. I had a gold mine, I gave it to Ms.T, and I haven't heard from her anymore. And you are saying you're hurting. Beleive me when I say thing, I know how you're feeling."

"I'm sorry... Who are you looking for? Maybe I can help you?" Gigi said, cheered slightly by the idea of being of some use.
Darkpoet stood, and picked up his hat. "Mayhap you can. But right now I have to attend to some things... and you should be expecting a visit from the sheriff. Just do yourself a favour, and stay off the whisky." He tipped his hat at her. "I... guess I'll be seeing you around," he said, and left.
For a moment, Gigi lay there, thinking over his words. Realising he was at least right about the sheriff, she scrambled out of bed to make herself presentable, hoping that she hadn't done too much damage.

Kramor was happy about the colt, that made the third on this week. He told Blue good night, and went to the house. Sitting at his desks, he did some figuring. Leaning back in his chair, Kramor fell asleep.

Loner awoke the next morning with quite the headache, and promised to herself never to do that again. Not only for herself but for Kramor.
He wasn't there when she woke up. "All right," she told herself, "take it easy and stop. Trust him."
When she went downstairs, she found him asleep at his desk. She smiled and kissed him lightly, so as not to wake him, and quietly slipped out. She saw Blue on her way.
"You feel better?"
She nodded.
"Going into town?" he asked.
"I am, Blue. Is there anything you need?"
He nodded and went up to her, taking her hand. "Yes," he said. "I need for you to be happy, friend."
She leaned over and kissed him on top of his head. "You're sweet, Blue."
He shrugged. "I worry."
She rode into town, and arrived at the hotel. Taking a deep breath, she climbed the stairs and knocked on Gigi's door. She always hated this...

A stranger rides into town, a battered hat and long coat obscuring the face and features. The stranger hitches the chestnut gelding to a railing outside the general store. After a brief conversation with the owner, the stranger starts walking towards the saloon. The stranger took a seat at a table, back against the wall and waited. One hand on the shot glass, one hand ready to draw the gun. Watching as Darkpoet left the saloon, the figure tossed back the whiskey and silently followed him out.
DP heard footsteps following him and turned to see the business end of a colt aimed at him. “DP you rat! You disappeared without telling anyone where you were! I nearly had to shoot that lowdown BT Dubya before he’d tell me where you were. Here’s your deed back.” With that Ms T turned around, walked to her horse and started riding.

Gigi's stomach turned at the knock on her door. She guessed the sheriff was back from out of town. What wouldn't she give for a shot of whisky... but she didn't have any, and besides, she guessed Darkpoet could be right. Steeling herself, she opened the door.

Loner stood facing Gigi. This was a familiar scene by now. Loner sighed.
"I'm told you busted up the saloon yesterday," she said gravely, and shook her head. "I don't want to have to take you in again. I'd just like for you to tell me what went on."

"Uhhh, maybe you should ask someone who uh, remembers it a little better... I'm kind of hazy... I guess I'm sorry and it'll never happen again isn't gonna cut it, right...?"

"It might cut it, Gigi, if it actually doesn't ever happen again. But this is the third time in as many weeks. I'm surprised the place is still standing."

"So... how much damage did I do?" asked Gigi, shamefacedly. "I don't mean to do it..."

"I think you do, in a way," said Loner, very quietly, "and I know why."

Gigi looked down at the floor, cursing to herself. "If you have something to say, sheriff, then say it."

Good, Loner thought, it's working...
"Go down to the bartender, and ask him how much you owe him for the damage. I'll make sure the price is fair. Then pay it, and it'll be forgotten, as far as I'm concerned."

Gigi looked hard at Loner. "He might have to wait until I get the money from a few more shows..." she tailed off. The sheriff knew why a lot of her shows had been cancelled recently. "Was there anything else?"
