@sleep, Georgi, RPGer - you mentioned Big Lebowski but I don't see the signature anywhere ?!?! Anyway, I've been watching it all the time lately, I think the Coen Bros movies always take a few years and a few viewings to sink in, hence all the Big Lebowsky references right now. One mention was in PC Gamer last month, talking about wolfenstein, they quoted John Goodman "say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos".
My favorite quotes right now are everything Jesus says (wouldn't make it past the censor though), of course the nihilists at the end "but his girlfriend gave up her toe. It's not fair!" Goodman: "not fair! Who's the nihilists here?". And when the Dude gets drugged by Jackie Chiles and his voice is all distorted as he's saying "the kid just wanted the car....all the dude ever wanted was his rug back".
Gabriel Byrne
is a dude (See under: Georgi's favourite movies: Usual Suspects

) but that really doesn't excuse End of Days, it's a terrible movie!!
Yeah, I saw Big Lebowski again recently, appreciation increases with multiple viewings... RPGer must have removed his sig, and I can't remember what the quote was now...

Jesus has to be one of the best cameos in any movie ever...

all right, Georgi!
You know, I'm a man, and I'm a complete man, you know, that likes woman and everything, but I have to say that that Gabriel Byrne is dreamy. You can appreciate that it sounds like. You know what I think is a tragedy? They should've made Gabriel Byrne the new James Bond. You know what I'm saying? I think that would have been incredible, he maybe could've rivaled Sean Connery. Oh well.

Arnold is on the radio at this moment. He confirmed he is doing another Conan movie. He said he will start that right after Terminator 3.

way better than roger moore, tim dalton, or remington steele. gabby byrne could rival connery in the aspect of a cool, martini drinking, cigarette smoking, love em and leave em, take no prisoners kind of bond. everyone since connery has failed to carry the weight. For your eyes only and live and let die were both good efforts by moore. the living daylights was a decent movie because it was funny, and golden eye was decent because natalya was gorgeous and trevalyn, sean bean, is always good. does anyone know if there is a sean bean movie out there where he acutally lives through the final credits.
patriot games - dead
ronin - dead
lord of the rings - dead
golden eye - dead
well, i'm sure he lived through something.
@ HighLordDave,
I'm just kidding about educating people about daggoth although it has always been an inside joke between my father and I.
About the Coen bro's - HighLordDave has a dvd review thread here in SYM. the coen brothers are referred to in there. check it out.

HLD,
So, is there a chance you'll be the second to convert. Janine's already joined.
Just look at my sig and you know that's a good thing.

They are a bunch of BBC TV movies that are sometimes shown in the US on Masterpiece Theatre. They are based on the novels of Bernard Cornwell that are set during the Napoleonic wars.

Yeah, I think so. They are sort of like James Bond, only more historically accurate, set in 1812, and in the British Army. He seems to get hurt an awful lot, but always recovers. He usually gets the girl, too, but she is usually working for the other side....

I've enjoyed the books.

*too lazy to go back a page*
You're not talking about Conan anymore, are you?
Ok, seriously... I've never watched Sharpe myself, but I hear it's pretty good... Off the top of my head, there's a Sean Bean film called When Saturday Comes which is about football, so I'd guess he doesn't die in that...

Anyway, I guess dying at the end is what you get for playing bad guys all the time
Re. Bond, IMO Pierce Brosnan is a great Bond, best since Connery... it's just a pity that the movies haven't really been up to scratch

Gabriel Byrne would have been a good Bond, he has that hard Celtic edge that Connery and Brosnan have.
@McBane Two Arnie sequels for the price of one? Bargain!

I have visions of this thread reaching 2000 posts with a cult following of 10,000 views.

I'm not certain I can dignify that comment with a response as I'm not currently aware of any other cult in existence.
You are all the children of Daggoth!
side note HLD: I directed my father to the banshee to read this conan thread. He got a kick out of it, what with all this daggoth nonsense. He was amazed I found something like this and then I had to admit my contributions.

Somehow, i don't think your the only one.
But one question.
IN Conan III , is Arnie going to still have his "old" party with him?
I mean, Malek, Akiro, Zula or something?
What an old bunch.

Those are just sects of the one true cult of daggoth.
