But the spirit of Halloween lives on in all of us all year round and we should never forget..... No, wait. That's Christmas.

Part of my issue with this is that many threads start out one way, then morph into something else entirely - I would say 90% of the SYM threads are like this. If threads are closed when they go off topic, free speech would be severely curtailed. This thread was never given a chance to morph.

Another part is more personal - I thought I wrote some mildly funny stuff, and now the thread can never be bumped, and no one except those who participated in the thread that one night will ever see it, since it will only take a day or two to be relegated to page two.

Furthermore, a year from now the thread should be bumped.

Lastly, I fancy myself a scientist, and arbitrary actions mystify me. I want reason and logic! (No, I'm not a Vulcan)

In all likelihood the thread would have died of natural causes anyway in a day or two, making moderator action unnecessary.

Then 'with my Rocky Horror Mask on' I decided to test the power of being a mod out.

With these happenings I could not control myself and accidently closed a topic.
