Flashing the CMOS or flashing the BIOS is plenty of hardware unfriendly for me :) ?

AFAIK it would also be hard to make software "attack" hardware any other way - the only way, I can think of is changing the power-vaultage on the boards where you can do this without moving jumpers.

Well, a flashed CMOS or BIOS can be fixed without a hardware replacement.

As for the voltage idea, that's even more scary though. Many BIOS programs allow you to change voltage through software now, and the wrong voltage could fry a cpu, motherboard, and has a lesser chance to fry everything attached to the motherboard (ouch).

A flashed BIOS can(could) fry your computer with ease (that is why manufactors always write that it is on own responcibility if you flash your BIOS :D ).

Of course not - I wasn't discussing ;)

BTW a virus in itself is not an illegal activity :D , it is when you delibarate mail it to someone to harm them or their computer it is illegal .... Oh that was what I mentioned - whops :D :D
