What Christians actually believe(except possibly the idiotic traditionalists, which are a dying breed):
There is pride and then there is extreme pride. If you're so proud that it interferes with your relationship with God, then you are sinning because you are setting yourself above God.

I would just like to make a request now... Can we please leave religion out of this... I'm really sick of all the religion discusions we've been having.

Anything can be considered a sin if excessive enough.

Pride can be both. The other post is about envy - I'd say 'admiration' is not bad, while 'envy' is. Envy is supposed to be the severe connotation.

I'm proud of my academic achievements and my skills in drawing.

I'm proud of the cement slab I poured in my backyard last week. Looks pretty good, almost like a professional! I've never worked with cement before. Now to build the shed...

Of course I'm very proud of my two daughters, but I think my wife gets most of the credit there.

I am proud of a cupboard i created in my bedroom, and it hasn't fallen down yet
