Well I once spent three weeks in Great Britain and had only two days of rain (in Wales & Scotland of course)...

It ruins our reputation as a country with permanently bad weather.

T'is not permanent, Ravager. I went to the lakes because when I got up on Saturday it was glorious. And it was on Sunday till late afternoon too. Rained through the night and of course it was both windy and wet this morning. That is because I had to come home. Nice challenge: determined Fiona v wind and wet tent. I won on points :laugh:

I was wonderfully wet and muddy and I got to drive home like that.

And it is lovely outside now, but the house is festooned with soaked tent, sleeping bag an assorted clothes. Camping is such fun :laugh:
@ Lestat. I often do

Well, I've done enough camping in my youth to last me for a lifetime... and to help me appreciate the joy of a 6 by 7 foot bed with down cover... *content sigh*

I recommend it! I prefer good weather, I admit. But it is nice for a little while for everything normal to be a wee bit difficult.

I can not agree more! there is something about waking at dawn...have to boil water for the crappy instant coffee...and at that moment all is right in the world....

Exactly. I like narrow boats and cabin cruisers for the same reason

Are we planning an SYM camping trip?
If so there is a really good place outside Braemar (about 5-10 km) that we went to for Duke of Edinburgh award... lol
So how is everyone?

@Lestat. Now would I?
@ Greg. Hi. If we did go there we would have to go before the middle of May, though. Wouldn't we?
