Well, it depends...
I'm using at home both Opera and IE, and in spamming IE is faster, but if you are browsing several sites same time, Opera is faster.
So, it depends on your using, IMO

As for Opera, on this system it slows the computer down a bit because it has low memory, but because it's broadband it's generally fine in loading pages.
It just takes up a lot of the system memory while running. If you have a reasonable system, you shouldn't have that problem.

I didn't run anywhere, just trying to think a program which I ca an use for unix-connection, which has also SSH and is free...
