Hill-Shatar said not to smile two posts after the horse, hence the horses bidding lust (?) could've had nay effect on Hill-Shatar's comment..unless either Canadian's or horse's can travel back in time..they can't do that can they?

The reason for the quotation from confused is the whole point. How many understood Confucius and how many understood the whole point of Hill.
