Not a bad idea, but the timeline is off a little in your scenario, since (as you pointed out earlier) Leia has memories of her mother, and I don’t know anyone who has memories of when they were only a few months old. So Amidala (Or Padme, whatever the hell she calls herself) can’t die that soon. Leia would have to be closer to three or four (maybe two) in order to recall what mom looked like.

The Force, Kayless, the Force! It has a powerful effect on the weak-mind. Just as I am presently "willing" you to respond to what I am writing now, Padme could have "willed" images of her face upon Leia's consciousness. :D

BTW, what's up with your avatar? And why Sarevok? Feeling nostoligic for Baldur's Gate?

Not necessarily; C-3P0 and R2-D2 didn't remember Obi-Wan...

Yeah, but I'll bet they get memory wiped (still doesn't explain Obi-Wan, Vader, and Owen not remembering the driods. Maybe they're all senile). Image

@Ode As someone has already stated somewhere, droids could have their memories erased. In Episode IV, however, R2 remembered Obi-Wan as his previous "owner." How come Obi-Wan didn't remember R-2? I won't hold it against Lucas if he neglects to reconcile this one. It's a minor stricking point that he never suspected in his wildest dreams he would have to address 25 years and 12 billion dollars later.

@Kayless, hey, I'm already sing the Star Wars song, just its for the original 3 movies. :p :D I'm seeing it again in a few hours, we'll see if my attitude towards it changes. ;)

Maybe they all had their memories wiped too  :p

So how come the two droids remember having previous "adventures" together if their memories have been wiped? It's a minor point, but it's like when Obi-Wan's ghost tells Luke in episode VI that Anakin was one of the best pilots in the galaxy when he first met him. Young Anakin was not one of the best pilots in the galaxy in TPM. And why does 3P0 keep saying "Praise the Maker" if he knows the kid who created him grew up to be Darth Vader? Even if he didn't remember due to a memory wipe, surely R2 (who appears to remember his past quite well) would have told him that it was Anakin who created him.

Quote from a Punch and Judy show I saw when I was younger. I think it had something to do with Punch throwing their baby out of the window.
Punch-"Oh no I didn't!"
Judy-"Oh yes you did!"
Punch-"Oh no I didn't!"
Judy-"Oh yes you did!"
Punch-"Oh no I didn't!"

Works for me (if it weren't for the niggling little fact that Padme isn't a Jedi). Image

Why not? Every three days I switch avatars (until the end of the month) so I figured it was time for another animated one. I’ve always liked Sarevok so it seemed like a natural choice. My topic, The Many Faces of Kayless, has a list of all my avatars (Speaking of which, it's about time I switch again). Image

I don't think they remember anything prior to Luke’s birth (which about the time I’m guessing they get wiped) since 3PO doesn’t even recognize Tatoonie, the place of his birth... er creation. He also doesn’t remember working for Owen or that someone named Skywalker built him. (The little movies they played before FOX aired the Trilogy aren't canon).

Actually, Lucas went overboard in telling (Padme: "You're a pilot?" Anakin: "All my life.") and showing us that Anakin was a great pilot. Hell, he was the only human who could Pod Race and he blew up the droid control ship on his first flight (albeit by happenstance). I think that's proof enough that he could fly pretty well.

Personally I don’t think either of them remember, though it’s possible R2 does and was sworn to secrecy (notice he doesn’t tell 3PO, or anyone else, what his mission is on Tatoonie until he shows Obi-Wan the message from Liea). About the Maker lines, I just think it's droid slang for "Thank God."

In episode IV 3P0 complains about their previous adventures to R2, when they're getting into the escape pod IIRC.

Being a pod-racer is different to being a proper pilot, and especially to being one of the finest pilots in the galaxy.

Why would one of a counterpart pair of droids get a memory wipe and not the other? Maybe R2 has a "selective" memory, no? :p

One thing I hope they put in Episode III is the Sabaac game in which Han wins the Millenium Falcon from Lando. That would be cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys...

...but did the storymaker(s) write all 6 episodes but figured to show the last three first?

I'm sorry but I'm not much in the know regarding this matter. :)

After Lucas saw how successful ANH was, he changed his mind from having just ANH to intending to make nine movies in total.

They had to be doing something in the 20 odd years from episode 3 to episode 4. Since they were owned by a Rebel Captain their lives had to be pretty eventful.

Semantics. A champion Pod Racer has to be a damn good pilot (one of the best in the galaxy). Image And let's not forget Anakin's little stunt in the Naboo fighter. Pretty impressive for a 9 year old.

They’re not owned by the same people. R2 belongs to Padme, 3PO is Anakin’s (or maybe the Lars’). So it’s easy to imagine a situation where one could be mind wiped and not the other (although I do believe both will be). They don't become a really team until Captain Antillies ownes them both.

That would indeed be cool, except that Han will only be a teenager in episode 3. I doubt he'd be gambling for ships that young. Image

Right, except ixnay the 9. Lucas has said in multiple interviews that he only plans to make 6 (and the that he only vaguely considered making 9). Image

NOOO !!!!!!!! Lucas can't do that ! He can't even select proper cast for SW 1 & 2. I don't want to see the "coolness" portrayed by Harrison Ford upon Han Solo being torn out just because of miss cast

Yeah, and he was a pretty good pilot in AotC as well...

I doubt if Han Solo would be introduced before ANH - that's where he comes into the story, there's not really any reason to include him before then.

@Mah when Lucas made the original trilogy, he didn't think it would ever be possible to film the back story, since the special effects were unavailable... he said he thought the best that could happen would be writing it as a novel.

Well I saw it again, and I liked it much better this time. :) I now think the movie is really, really good. I still have some misgivings about it, in such the fact that it could have been put together much better (mostly problems with Lucas). But I enjoyed it now. :)

@Kayless-Saying Anakin was one of the best pilots in the galaxy when Obi-Wan first met him because he could pod-race is like saying that because I can ride a bicycle I can also drive a car. I hardly think blowing up the Trade Federation's space station by accident makes him one of the best pilots in the galaxy. It's a small point, but it could have been avoided with sufficient planning.

I doubt Han will be in Episode III either, but it would be cool if they did show the sabaac game (though as KidD3.141592 pointed out it would suck if they screwed it up).

I haven't seen AotC yet. :(

Not really, since you ride a bicycle and drive a car. You actually pilot a Pod Racer. Would you rather Obi-Wan had said “When I first met him your father was already a great pilot... Not a fighter pilot mind you, though he learned fast. What I mean is that he was a great Pod Racer pilot, so don’t get the two confused. Hmmm, now I’ve forgotten what I was suppose to be talking about.” Image

I think they covered it quite adequately. The whole sequence in the Naboo Fighter was to show that Anakin was a child prodigy. How many 9 year olds can fly a fighter on their first time up? Image
