I think having it subtitled would work :) We could also each make note of the page where the main story is :)

Hmm... I am liking the idea of having amnesia.... it would be a result of being warped by the portal maybe? :)
*giggle* this has all kinds of potential :D

@BS LOL! :D

Ok, so say if we do decide to travel back in time...would we arrive before we have attained our class skills? Or could our amnesia have us forget them? ...

That way we would all be equal...and have great fun determining our training :D Maybe Gwally fancies being a mage? Maybe Ysh thinks she is a dwarven fighter? :D

It might be fun for us to try different ideas, maybe finding various mentors in the local town/groves until we decide :D

this is an interesting thought...but I think that if the DFs were to travel back[/i] in time, there are a few of us that I am not sure if we would fit in the new storyline.....Chan and myself in particular, since we just came on in the past 24hrs by story time....however, it might be a way for Scayde to return home, since it would be before she was transported into Fearun.

Which brings to mind.....is anyone still interested in the "Dude Ranch"?

@Scayde, I was thinking travelling back in Faerun time, not our own storyline time :) Scayde may be able to pick up some training too :) These are only ideas, the whole thing is open for discussion of course. Maybe Thalimon is one of the mentors I spoke of? Maybe Scayde runs a local ranch that equips everyone with horses?

I don't mind either way, I am only throwing out ideas :)

Oh Ysh :o ....I was not complaining.......I only meant I did not think Scayde would be able to participate....but I did not understand what you meant.....If Scayde can be there, she would love to, of course... :)

@Scayde, I was hoping that the idea of us all falling back before we knew each other might serve to unite the DF rather than separate, since we could all get to know each other in a relatively peaceful time :) (of course we will need to battle somethings sometimes :D ) We would all be at square one until our memories returned (thus some of us, having taken on new training, might have a strange 3rd edition rules multi class combination :D )

*Pictures Gwally setting off fireballs* LOL! he could be a druid mage :D

LMAO BS :D

I think that the amnesia making us forget our class skills would make for some fun writing :D I would likely, in that case make DW into a thief clad in black, studded leather :D

I was thinking about this. Maybe in Scayde's case she would become a character class similar to what she is now, a fighter/ranger type of character maybe? :) Or alternately she could be transformed into a younger, more innocent version of her present identity? :)

I think Chanak's character could also be adapted easily enough into the idea :) Maybe when he is finished his present personal battle he comes looking for everyone and ends up following us? Just thoughts anyway :)

The Dude Ranch would also be a fun idea :) My only concern is that maybe it would make for too different a story, which might impact the sense of continuity. I am also attracted to the idea of warping to the past because it would provide our characters with a new innocence and free them from some of the angst they have underwent in the present story. ;) Though, the Dude Ranch would free us from worrying about being able to connect past and present.

Both ideas have lots of room for comic potential and I would be happy to opt for either :D

Or a Paladin/Monk like me! Yay! :D

I think I'd be a Mage. A narcissistic, arrogant Mage, who is actually very much like Edwin. :D

We'd love to have you Scayde! :)

Sounds fun Ysh and DW, count me in. :)

@DW a thief? :) I was thinking that maybe DW might fancy being a bard and practice in the taverns :D (btw, Scayde might resent your suggestion that her character could be more innocent :D :p )

I like the idea re Thalimon...maybe he is the one who remembers all and tries to remind us...and we are stubborn and like being thieves and bards and dwarven fighters? :D

@Nippy LOL! :D

@All, as I said these are only ideas for a bit of fun. I don't wish for anyone to feel excluded - none of us do - quite the opposite in fact :) This sidetrack would put us all on equal footing, from the beginning (if that makes sense?) it will be like starting over for a while :)

The amnesia thing is interesting. My character would be able to relate more easily with some of the other character without all the distrust of magic and that would carry over into the other area maybe :D

Maybe he could be fascinated with magic. Then almost kill himself trying to cast something :D

@BS LOL! :D so your character will still end up being afraid of magic but as a result of his new history rather than his old one? :D

btw ;)

LOL.......You know you are going to have to be a martial arts expert in an outfit like that :D ;)

LOL......Well..she would have to have amnesia to pull young inocent routine off without cracking more than a few grins :D :p

This sounds like a really good idea.

I would also vote to make it a new thread, while leaving Book 5 open. People who are not currently writing their characters would not make the transition, I think. Such as Jennabard. This would simplify our story considerably. We could call it The Order of the Dark Flames Book 6: New Beginnings.

I could see us going back about 500 to 1000 years in the past (before the Time of Troubles) to Ogre Falls, back when it was still an active fishing village plagued by occasional marauding bands of Ogres (anyone see the Magnificent Seven lately? :D ) The portal might transport us back with amnesia of the events of the last few years, but with some training still intact. We could all be around level 4 or so. The transformation might also make those of use who are middle-aged a bit younger. Okay, only Gwally falls into this category.

The transforming effects of the portal could also cause Scayde to become a Faerunian rather than an Earthling if she wants. It up to her. Would you like to write a Ranger character or something, @Scayde?

Chan could manifest as a younger version of himself, or the portal could transform him into something else entirely – human perhaps? Centaur? This story can be whatever we want it to be.

For Gwally, this would be before he ever met his (ex) wife, and when he was still learning to be a Druid. He could react to everyone and everything as new and different. I see it as a lighter story line where we can inject more of the humor into our characters and stories.

Maybe Gwally has never met an elf before? Imagine the questions he would have for Aegis. Maybe he wants to know what it is like to be a mage? He could quiz DW. How will he react when he sees his first hot tub filled with naked women? :D

Eventually, once everyone is ready to go back and finish the Abomination story, the portal could re-open, depositing up right back where we left off – just the way we were. I would see it as Book 5 going into a hiatus, while Book 6 becomes an extended interlude. Book 6 would give us an opportunity to explore lower-level characters, perhaps even different characters, without the current weight of past baggage and trauma.

lol! I could see that being quite interesting actually.... Maybe she would get drunk, in order to calm her nerves, before practicing? :D
lol! Well..innocence can have certain advanatges on occasion :D

Maybe he could be fascinated with magic. Then almost kill himself trying to cast something

ROFL! :D I can see it now... he ends up casting magic missiles on himself and it literally backfires :D Or...*snicker* ...polymorph... :D
